6 + 2 Point Deductions

Said this as soon as we appealed. Has to be before the transfer window really. Its currently worth Burnley/Sheffield United buying a couple of £20m players on relegation clauses, one of them might get above us if we can’t spend and get injuries.

If we were to get some points back, good vibes are back in the squad and we end up 8 points ahead of them by the window, they will/should defo save their money and plan how to spend their parachute payments. Huge knock on effect if this drags on. None of it our fault before they try to blame us.

Problem is that time has run out.

Yes we’ve lodged an appeal but I very much doubt we are ready to re-present our case, the appeals panel has probably not been put in place, the hearing may take several weeks, the decision another week or so to be made public, Christmas is all but here … nope, at the earliest February

Of course. 5-6 points maybe? (Hopefully less!)
I’m far more worried about the possible compo to other clubs. That could make us bankrupt, it could make us fail PSR again… or it could just be a few million.
If compensation starts creeping into the game, where will it stop? A team gets a few dodgy VAR decisions and gets relegated or misses out on CL by a point.. sue the PL.. allowing this kind of thing will be the end of football... Every team that City and Chelsea finished above will claim..

We should put our hands up for compensation for being banned from Europe in the 80's.

This is it, if Leicester Leeds and whoever are claiming against us for them being relegated in a season we didn't break any rules, if we get relegated this season why can't we sue city and Chelsea for the same thing?

What they have done doesn't work, it just opens many cans of worms.

Fine us like you have done to everyone else, rats

Think it may have been more than 2. As we used something like 23 players in 86/87 because of injuries, Which was unheard off at the time and we did use a lot of reserve players.

Apologies you are right it was 4 and yes 23 players played for you in that season

Kevin Ratcliffe. 42 appearances
Gary Stevens 25 appearances
Kevin Richardson 1 appearance
&
Ian Marshall 2 apperances

The other 19 had been transferred in

Heath & Adam’s Stoke
Harper & Sheedy Liverpool
Aspinall & Langley Wigan
T Steven Burnley, Power City
Watson Norwich,Southall Bury
Sharp Dumbarton,Wilkinson Grimsby
Reid Bolton,Snodin Leeds
Mountfield Tranmere, Pointon Scunthorpe,
Minns Rotherham, van DeHawe Birmingham
Clarke Wolves,

Some really decent players there a lot of them to be fair were made so by Kendall

Everton self notify ? Ok they submitted the required paperwork but they certainly didn’t put their hands up Prior to any charge being registered

We did. 3 years ago. "Houston, we have a problem" to paraphrase. Worked with the PL on signings, and sales, to get back on track. PL even said to 3 clubs that we were compliant when they cried about 18 months ago.

Independent regulator v Everton being done? That is the PL equation.

Oh I agree. Just saying when it needs to be finished to cause the least impact on other clubs. Massive massive impacts on them if they chuck a load of money at staying up, then we rocket back up to 13th with ten games to play.

I don’t think either side will be presenting new facts, just arguing over the relevance of the existing mitigations etc. We will submit a massively detailed appeal, the PL can really only re-affirm the position they have already taken. They can’t refute the facts in a MORE biased way, and they can’t introduce any more brand new Everton-only rules. So it shouldn’t really take too long. But sod all gets done in December, and there is no international break for a while to release the news.

You’d think the clubs around us will be planning for us to get something back, but there is a definite sporting and financial impact on other teams if it takes months.
