A divided fan base still when we are playing great football

I’m happy with the points on the board, but I don’t see why we have to pretend the football has been that good

Pragmatism is fine, there’s no need to put lipstick on a pig right now when it comes to talking up the quality of the football

The majority of the football we’ve played so far this season has been pretty basic stuff

And you know what, if it keeps getting results then that’s great
Mikey, it’s now getting the points off the teams we should be getting points off.

A few good performances and points off the rest is a bonus.

This league isn’t as good as Sky want you to believe. Beat the crap sides and your sound.

Well I have to say it’s all going considerably better than I thought it would when Carlo ran off, long may it continue we’re going well, still in the mix

I'll never understand why some people let other fans (especially when those other fans are strangers on the Internet) effect how you view the match or enjoy it. If some people want to be a misery arse then so what? It shouldn't effect you. Personally I'm buzzing with tonight's win and I don't care how others feel about it. Look, I don't know if I'll be equally buzzing with the result this coming weekend against Villa or fuming or maybe just somewhere in between but I can guarantee you that my views and feelings won't be dictated by other people!

The club is playing some attractive football. We've won against the lower table teams which is what we should be doing, and tied against Leeds away.

It's a good start. How many times have we've been burned before with great starts and a mid-season collapse? For the past 6 years we've been a club aspiring towards the top 4 with sideways and back passes, always slow to start playing a ponderous, en vogue, possession based game.

Benitez has to win something to become part of the club's DNA. Till then he's a hired gun, how many other coaches just used us as a stepping stone to some La Liga behemoth that's seen better times.

As much as we were poor for the first hour it was also down to Burnley being effective in their usual way. Didn't give us any time or space, were physical and launching balls in.
During that time we at least had a bit of fight and got stuck in. As Burnley tired we were able to play. Could have has had 5 in that 15 minute spell.

Real competition for places this term will stop the downing of tools I reckon. The effort is coming from the fact nobody's name is automatic on that team sheet this season unlike last. As for the manager downing tools, well Ancelotti looked on us as a gift from the Gods whilst his seat at Madrid was cleared. Fans saw it but Evertons owners and bill payers didn't.. Manic.
The problem there is we actually haven’t got competition for places, our Quality in depth is shocking

So some are not happy with all aspects of the game or how we played with 3 CB’s. Anyone who listened to RB post match interview will know that he wasn’t either, and still sees a lot to be improved. So happy with result and not some aspects of how we played is how both the fans and the manager feel.
