Alan Myers leaves Everton for 'personal reasons'.

Looks like he left for the sake of his health. As in, couldn't be fussed taking or dealing with all the internal bullcrap as it was affecting him badly. Which worryingly points at a degree of internal bullcrap at EFC which is evidently not present at, say, Blackburn.

And another point deducted by a fellow Evertonian DHolliday. All so unnecessary but I won't let this harassment cause upset, annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.

Look, we all know debates aren't allowed on this forum. You may end up offending someone on the internet.

He's totally slaughtering myers on Twitter, is their bad blood between them or something

Parry looks like he's been on the beer mate. He's always been one of Bill's luvvies and seems to have taken offence to AM posting one of those girlie pics about how much he's going to miss us all.

It's like an episode of Young Doctors.

"Sent in"?

Bet Kenwrong himself phoned up the infamous mikeparry8 to make Alan Myers's public image bad.

He's always there or thereabouts when his free meal ticket is threatened. He wont be the last parasite in the coming days briefing against Myers. I suspect Myers knows it too. If anyone is aware of the Everton spin machine it's him.

dave can you please work out some clever way of using this against the board that eventually forces them into making another big PR gaff.

I've been out tonight so I've missed all the 'fun', although I had heard what was going on.

My view:

1) I (and others) were clearly right when we correctly guessed that something wasn't quite right about the situation and that it wasn't how it was being publicly portrayed, by either the club or Myers.

2) His departure has NOTHING to do with ill-health, he starts his new job on Monday! He is not ill.

3) You do not willingly leave your self-proclaimed dream job after 6 months to go to Blackburn, of all clubs.

4) The silence since his departure from his former EFC colleagues would suggest that they have all been told point blank not to comment on the situation publicly or interact with Alan publicly.

5) Alan has made it clear from his recent tweets that he did not choose to leave Everton to go to Blackburn. It is not a case of him being offered more money or anything like that. Lets face it, you just wouldn't swap one job for the other, clearly inferior job.

6) The fact he got snapped up so quickly after leaving Everton indicates his reputation is completely intact, that he is a well respected man within media circles and that Blackburn probably couldn't believe their luck. It is ideal for Alan, he gets to stay in the north west where he is based.

7) Alan's abrupt departure (with Alan making a point about returning his cut off club phone and club coat) clearly reflects badly on the club's hierarchy. Bill Kenwright was said to be the man that personally headhunted Alan to come back to the club originally to sort out the badge fiasco. One would assume that Kenwright has been equally as influential in Alan's departure.

8) Mike Parry is a well known sycophant, and well, let's just say 'late night tweeter'. Of course he is going to side with Kenwright, and his disgraceful public hounding of Alan, attempting to embarrass him into revealing the details of his departure suggests a ) Parry probably knows, given his closeness with Kenwright; and b ) hints at a LOT of bad feeling.

9) My own theory (given credence by Parry's reference to Alan 'making himself a martyr to EFC fans' etc) is that for a long while the hierarchy (Kenwright, Elstone, et al) were all extremely agitated/jealous about Alan's popularity amongst Everton fans. It's been mentioned many times how most people view him and Martinez as bringing in the feel good factor this season, on and off the field. Maybe it grated with them.

10) Something has been the catalyst for this. Did Alan do something wrong? Nobody knows but Alan or the club. If he had done, I think the club would have simply stated that he'd been sacked, and been a lot more terse in their original club statement. The use of 'personal reasons' suggests some positive spin on the club's behalf to explain his departure. That is for the fans benefit, as they know how popular Alan is. Alan's pointed lack of mention of the hierarchy, in the people he has thanks for also suggests that they're probably not going to be on his Christmas card list any time soon.

11) Overall, the whole thing stinks. We're going to have to move on. Hopefully we get a decent replacement for him and not a Ross/Tyrell patsy. We can only hope the same degree of transparency, openness and friendliness will endure, but sadly, maybe it is just that, that led to Alan's departure, and as a result, his replacement will be under tighter reins by the hierarchy, mindful of not wanting to a create another 'too popular leading to all the credit going to him' director of communications.

Maybe he's heard a rumour that Roberto is offski in the summer due to lack of funding?

If I'd heard that rumour, I'd take a low key job for 6 months and come back carried aloft by the fans when Kenwright is chased out of L4 with torches and pitchforks.

Seriously, if the board survived that we deserve relegating out of the football league entirely.

Come on @alanmyers1 - you're doing a lot of whingeing and sending out heart-breaking pictures. Why have you left Everton? MAN UP.

Mike Parry ‏@mikeparry8 12m
@ALANMYERS1 Are you going to MAN UP and tell us what's going on or not?

ALAN MYERS ‏@ALANMYERS1 8m
@mikeparry8 not

BK arse wipe sent in to try and besmirch the man's name.

What a morally bankrupt board we have.
Mike Parry @mikeparry8
It says it all about you Alan that those now banging a drum for you are those who hate Bill Kenwright. About 13 people. You supported them
