I've been out tonight so I've missed all the 'fun', although I had heard what was going on.
My view:
1) I (and others) were clearly right when we correctly guessed that something wasn't quite right about the situation and that it wasn't how it was being publicly portrayed, by either the club or Myers.
2) His departure has NOTHING to do with ill-health, he starts his new job on Monday! He is not ill.
3) You do not willingly leave your self-proclaimed dream job after 6 months to go to Blackburn, of all clubs.
4) The silence since his departure from his former EFC colleagues would suggest that they have all been told point blank not to comment on the situation publicly or interact with Alan publicly.
5) Alan has made it clear from his recent tweets that he did not choose to leave Everton to go to Blackburn. It is not a case of him being offered more money or anything like that. Lets face it, you just wouldn't swap one job for the other, clearly inferior job.
6) The fact he got snapped up so quickly after leaving Everton indicates his reputation is completely intact, that he is a well respected man within media circles and that Blackburn probably couldn't believe their luck. It is ideal for Alan, he gets to stay in the north west where he is based.
7) Alan's abrupt departure (with Alan making a point about returning his cut off club phone and club coat) clearly reflects badly on the club's hierarchy. Bill Kenwright was said to be the man that personally headhunted Alan to come back to the club originally to sort out the badge fiasco. One would assume that Kenwright has been equally as influential in Alan's departure.
8) Mike Parry is a well known sycophant, and well, let's just say 'late night tweeter'. Of course he is going to side with Kenwright, and his disgraceful public hounding of Alan, attempting to embarrass him into revealing the details of his departure suggests a ) Parry probably knows, given his closeness with Kenwright; and b ) hints at a LOT of bad feeling.
9) My own theory (given credence by Parry's reference to Alan 'making himself a martyr to EFC fans' etc) is that for a long while the hierarchy (Kenwright, Elstone, et al) were all extremely agitated/jealous about Alan's popularity amongst Everton fans. It's been mentioned many times how most people view him and Martinez as bringing in the feel good factor this season, on and off the field. Maybe it grated with them.
10) Something has been the catalyst for this. Did Alan do something wrong? Nobody knows but Alan or the club. If he had done, I think the club would have simply stated that he'd been sacked, and been a lot more terse in their original club statement. The use of 'personal reasons' suggests some positive spin on the club's behalf to explain his departure. That is for the fans benefit, as they know how popular Alan is. Alan's pointed lack of mention of the hierarchy, in the people he has thanks for also suggests that they're probably not going to be on his Christmas card list any time soon.
11) Overall, the whole thing stinks. We're going to have to move on. Hopefully we get a decent replacement for him and not a Ross/Tyrell patsy. We can only hope the same degree of transparency, openness and friendliness will endure, but sadly, maybe it is just that, that led to Alan's departure, and as a result, his replacement will be under tighter reins by the hierarchy, mindful of not wanting to a create another 'too popular leading to all the credit going to him' director of communications.
it will come out at some timeWhat would actually happen if Alan spilled the beans on what's happened?
Just had a go about people reselling tickets, and what sounded like a jab at kitbag for laying off people working at the club store.
Feel sorry for this feller now. He's really being given the treatment by the parasites and lackeys on a nice drink from the club who are trying to intimidate him.
Our duty is to stand by him.

Well that would make him a bad Saville.Rumours are he had a thing with Velios's daughter.
Exactly what I think. Why has no-one tweeted him good luck? (Someone from inside the club.)Kenwright and Parry are friends. And Parry is now publicly daring Myers to spill the beans on the reason he left his post?
I've been against this board for many years, but you have to admit that maybe Alan could have more to hide than Bill/Bob.
