2023/24 Amadou Onana

Arsenal’s priority this window is a top class forward not Onana. You only had to watch the games against West Ham and the RS to see that.

Wouldn’t sell for less than £70m. We’d need two centre mids in ideally to replace him.

The smart money is we get Josh Brownhill in and the rest disappears even though we’ve spent virtually zero for the past 3 years.

I suspect this will prove to be correct.
If you take onboard what I have said, then add in what we will save on wages from out of contracts and the possible sale of a Godfrey or a Keane and I reckon in the summer we could literally end up with around £70m and needing to sign possibly min 6 players AND pay initial installments on Beto and Chermiti. It's going to be a very difficult summer and I hope Thelwell and Co have some sort of battle plan for it.

Well, currently we have 16 players in the Summer, unless we extend a few contracts or in the case of Harrison, potentially Loans.

So take out Branners and Onana, thats 14 players, *gulp.

The smart money signs a player we can make something back on in the future or just uses a loan for now, not signing a 27 near 28 year old who is going to want a fat signing on fee and a decent wage and who offers us nothing further down the line after a 3-4 year contract.

The fact that Brownhill is "free" should not be dismissed as easily.

Yeah it's frightening, we will have to make use of the loan system and free transfers that are available.

I'm not sure why people keep saying they need to sign a striker as they don't actually play with one, it's more a false 9 setup. I think they are just not being very clinical at the moment when it comes to chances but with Arsenal they have shown they can be previously, a confidence thing imo.
I think Onana stays for now then in the summer him and Branthwaite will both get sold for about £150m (Say £70-75m each) and the first team will see about £50-60m of it and the rest will go to paying off debts etc etc.

They need someone who nets. Saka is their top scorer with 6. Then Nketiah with 5. They've spent £650mill on Arteta's watch and they're the lowest scorers in that current top 5.

There is little value in any move for Brownhill mate, comes in the summer, nearly 28, will want a decent wage and big signing on fee and will want a 3-4 year contract will be 32 when it's up and walks free as he is worth nothing to us. All that for what is a very ordinary midfielder with no outstanding attributes.

Yeah Arsenal already have Rice playing in Onana’s best position whereas if they had a proper goalscorer they have every opportunity to win the league this year in a year City have dropped a lot of points so far

Will probably happen though.

When have grealish, foden, palmer, garner, jones, gibbs white, Eze and Maddison played central midfield played for England
Edit, Gibbs white, garner and jones have 0 caps and palmer and Eze have 2.
Are you struggling to get the point here? The reason they have few caps is because there is a lot of depth and tough to get into the squad despite the fact they are quality players
All of those players have played CM at various times and whether or not they have for England is irrelevant
Southgate, as established, picks Henderson. That is a Southgate problem, not an England depth problem
