A lot better 2nd half (playing on the right hand side that half), got a hospital pass from Robles and skillfully extricated us, got caught out badly again once, but miles better.

Thanks mate. TBF, it's one of those positions where you have to be spot on and mistakes are costly. As I said above, I do blame Moyes for any lack of match skills. He pretty much left this lad on the shelf gathering dust.

I've never seen him perform well; slow as a carthorse and rash, all he has is height. The only reason people think he has something about him is because he's an academy product and so everybody wants him to come good but wanting him to come good doesn't automatically make it happen, i'm afraid.

Garbage.

He played four games for us when we had a bit of an injury crises at teh back, all four he was solid and looked comfortable. He's also miles ahead of any academy product thats been in the u21's. Bad game today, but one bad game does not make a player, especially after said player has played a few first team games and looked more then comfortable.

I do not think we should pass at the back for the sake of it. Jags made a mistake today. There will be more if this goes on. Hoof it when it is necessary.

The players need to adapt to it too, so we don't make those mistakes mate. Saying that, it may well be goodbye to our beloved Hibberto.

I get that, but he was under no pressure to hoof it in that situation, he could have played it out to Browning but decided to try and play it to Osman. It's one mistake, doesn't mean it will happen all the time.

We're a work in progress, the more they keep passing around the back in pre-season the more they will adjust to it.

They are meaningless games. Wouldn't they be better used to discipline players not to lose possession by lumping it every five minutes?

I'll answer for you: yes they would.

So what you're saying is don't pass it for the sake of it, just mindlessly hoof it and hope for the best even if 9/10 the ball will be given away?

Good one, m8

Hoofing it you lose possession. Playing a sh1te short pass at the back is more dangerous, for me anyway. I am not saying we shall not pass from the back but not all our players have the ability to do that consistantly.
