WW2.......
Fair enough. I have no experience to dispute but could it be that you normally talk to people within your own world that also follow the sport as closely as you seem to?Lukaku is really well known here in Asia....
Sandro may turn out to be the next Lukaku, remember it was just us and WBA after him when we got him.
Keane I think is better than Stones, we've got Morgan to pick the ball up from the defenders and start spraying it around.
Del was a risk, could he handle it in this league? Perhaps he is a cut above Bolasie but just not in the PL.
For Ross he was one of ours so see Dowell, Davies and the young ones we bought in DCL, Lookman, Onyekuru etc.
I'm not going to say I'm happy with the stars we have, athough we have got one in Rooney. Everyone here wants more but to get them you have to have the league finish or have won something. That's why we have a team that can compete for starters, we can then bejazzle the playing staff over the next few years if we continue to look the business.
The attack is far superior to anything Moyes had. Not necessarily down to him but more a lack of funds. To be fair I wouldn't mind a Moyes defence! I think this team is much better than his with small exceptions here and there e.g. Arteta and Cahill. Plus I think there will be a few more in. Plus the youth team is much more successful now and providing good competition for places.
For gods sake people we will come out of this a better TEAM and SQUAD.
Also this.
So sad we aren't going to see all that success again like we did when we had: Lukaku, Deulofeu, Stones and Barkley
What did a Moyes team win us? Nothing. What did a Martinez team win us? Nothing.
I'm more than willing to give this team a shot. At the very least it's marginalizing or getting rid of a lot of players that won the square root of feck all. I am NOT enamored with the absolute obsession they seem to have with Gylfi as I think there is far better value out there for the money being quoted(just not in the PL).

When I say global name I mean even people in the farming community that I'm a part of in the rural midwest of the USA know who Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney etc. are. They know the names Pele and Maradona. These are what I think of when I think global names. Lukaku is no where near that imo, in talent or name recognition.
@Zatara i don't disagree with you too much.....well not as much as some, but here I think you are way off. We knew Barkley was going and now it is confirmed. No change from this morning or yesterday, last week or last month. I am surprised the confirmation has had such an impact on you.
I am not yet convinced we have a better team than last year but that is largely because I do not have a strong view on Pickford, Klasson, Sandro and Henry. Rooney and Keane are known positives for me. So I am not too disappointed yet. Let's see where we sit after a few months.
There is also a reasonable amount of time left in the window to make further positive signings and positive outgoings.
Let's hold our nerve a bit.
Not that I'm agreeing with Zat but quite a few people on here saying the likes of Stones is over rated and Del is useless, are the same ones who said Stones will be the future England captain and worried a few seasons about Del being bought back.
Fast forward a few seasons and you have all turned. Just like when Martinez came in he was the new hero and much better than Moyes.
Remember this, you will all turn on Koeman in the end.
I think the sad thing is that weve lost Stones and despite knowing we have Jagielka and Baines pushing it we went and added in Williams. The signings of Keane and Pickford are a huge improvement on keeper and 2nd best centre back but we need a top centre back
