I'm missing my annual pilgrimage to Croatia for obvious reasons.
A disaster for me as I drink copious amounts of their beer whilst there. I'll go out on a limb and say there are no finer ales in Europe.
Furthermore, none of the mainstream beer suppliers in this country seem to be able to get me my Tomislav or Karlovacko, unless anyone knows different?
I love the Belgian beers especially the Leiffe Bruin. The German beers not so much as in my opinion they tend towards what I would term lighter lager type ales, I'm sure someone will tell me different.I think the good people of Belgium and Germany would have something to say about that mate lol

But the Croatian products right across their range suit my palate.

Actually I think I have had that, but admit I'm not a fan of the wheat beers.
Listen to me, when all is said and done I suppose I'll sup anything.View attachment 97898

Good spot. For a wheat beer it was a heavy brew. The colour of that beer, tells me that the hangover will be enormous lol

You're probably correct. This reminds me of when my elder lad went to the world cup in Germany 2006? First full day there they went on the lash full on for the best part of the day. He feared the worst for when he woke up expecting the hangover from Hell. When he awoke there was no hangover and was mightily surprised so much he asked why. Some of the worst hangovers I`ve ever had, have come from " red / reddish " beers.
It`s deffo some kind of additive to get the colour that causes the damage.

The locals said it was because no additives used in the brewing just natural products.
Dont know how true it is.
I had a couple of cans of this during lockdown and it was lovely. Sure it's only 3.8% in cans, quite a big difference so would be interested to see whether it tastes the same on cask.View attachment 97627
Terrible beer pump for a really good beer - Sunday Sessions / Twisted Wheel 4.5 % ( Wigan )
Not normally a big fan of “ floral “ IPA’s as they can sometimes overpower the beer, but they got it just right with this one.
