Because there are some posts in this thread who are praising vic, yet only 2-3 weeks ago if you had started this exact same thread you would have got a completely different response. People are being fickle because he scores 2 goals then all of a sudden are saying he has done this he has sone that. If he had not scored the 2 goals of late you would not have started this thread and i would also think you would be one of the vic bashers.

Good post mate, think Damon was one of the worst Vic bashers on here, but now he's scored two goals it's all changed.

Evertonians are fickle.

I once genuinely said he had the ability to be the Scouse Drogba -- and NOT in jest -- and I've also called him every name under the sun.

I've always maintained that Moyes has used him poorly though. When he's struggled for confidence he's often lumped him up front on his own as an isolated figure in an impossible job. However right now I think Moyes is using him very, very well; giving him brief cameos to make his mark and boost his confidence. You can see in Vic's play now he's more confident and the effect of that is massive -- just look at how Saha and Cahill are playing without confidence; every first touch is poor, they hit air shots etc.

Hopefully this is the moment Vic makes use of the God-given physical attributes he has and makes it as a top-tier player. He's never seemingly had the football brain but yesterday he showed something that suggested he just might, with a fantastically timed run and calm finish. In addition to the sheer determination and brute strength he displayed for his goal the other week.

Spot on mate.

Not calling anyone out on it (they know who they are) It is always the same, people form opinions of players but don't take any other factors into account. The ****ging Gibson took before he signed was terrible.

One thing I am sure is that people will love to be proved wrong as long as it benefits Everton!

He's currently being used how he is best. Remember years ago when he was the super sub that moyes would pull on in the uefa cup ties? Seems like he scored almost every time he came on. As a sub, he is a massive challenge as a change of pace and a physical bull to give to a defender who has been chasing a hard working forward(like aj or vaughan at that time). If Saha were doing a better job pushing the defense, things would open up more later in games.

I'm hopeful Vic continues. If he's scoring, we will back him. But I think there are lots of similarities between he and Vellios, and I'm not sure who will end up being the better pro (if either ever makes it as more than a squad player).

Both just need minutes on the pitch..

Vic has scored more than any of our strikers now and his last two were expert finishes and he's been out for the majority of the season. That does not compensate for the fact that he was largely **** last season though. I do believe he has a lot of ability and can become a top forward but he needs a run of games and better all round application and attitude.

if you are scoring you are not playing defence. sorry vic, if yoiu want to get a match pull your thumb out and stop scoring, lad.
