Galloway being punted has cost us points this season. Baines has been out a fair chunk of it and Oviedo is an even worse defender than him. Galloway would have shut up shop down that left hand side and given options in CD.
Hopefully Pulis saves us from ourselves and does send him back here early.

It's rebounded. I see the loan deal ending at Everton's behest, tbh. It saves face to suggest that Pulis wants to send him back early.
A mistake was made sending him out when Baines was always likely to hobble out of the season early and Oviedo just isn't strong enough for the role or injury free himself.

I agree with you on Oviedo, since that injury has never fully recovered IMO, certainly not good enough at LB or perhaps any where now, another piece of deadwood?? On Garbutt methinks something could have been done with him but too late now I think. As regards Baines I believe injuries will become an increasing problem.

He may well be, but I just don't see it with this lad unfortunately. Currently he's being kept out of the side by a lad Watford deemed not good enough to play right back for them.
I never really understood the euphoria over the lad last season either. In a number of games he wasn't good enough, Southampton away Tadic had the better of him and City at Home we improved when he went off. He had some good games like West Brom away and Chelsea at home too. However the Stoke home game was a bit of a horror show for him.
He looks to me to be a similar style of player to Stones but not at the same level. I am not normally hard on young players but I'm not convinced about this lad at all. To be blunt I prefer Browning and Pennington over him. Browning has the physical attributes while Pennington looks a more competent defender.
We are increasingly looking like we have 4 left backs on the books, who for 1 reason or another can't be relied upon, so we may need to start again. I'd happily clear out any 3 of the 4 and go out and buy Bertrand or Cresswel.

It's harsh on Galloway though. The drawback for me was that he was not going to get forward too much; but that was his virtue too in many respects. Obviously Koeman wants adventurous FBs so even if he does come back in he'll be in and out of the team...at LB anyway.
I agree with the basis of that. West Ham away was another game where he looked way out of his depth, he was absolutely taken apart by Victor Moses. He also had a game like that for WBA earlier this season, which is why he was benched originally.
He reminds me of Rodwell, in that he's clearly got a lot of good attributes, but it isn't immediately clear what he stands out at, or what his best position will be. I'm certainly not writing the lad off as he's clearly talented, but I agree that a lot of people have gone way overboard with regard to his current level.
