Carbon neutral lettuce eating

I know all this- of course. But the message is being spouted here in the, let's face it, impressionable UK, where water use to rear livestock is absolutely not an issue. The trouble is with the UK is that we bend over backwards to accommodate minority groups and normalise extremist ideas, justifying it with disingenuous use of statistics - not many other countries are the slightest bit interested in vegetarianism in their culture - ask my veggie wife who struggles to eat anywhere else she travelled (other than India).

I think Chelsea and Spurs should take the message of not eating meat and cycling to those water-deprived countries instead - because you know, other countries love being told what to do with their resources. I think their campaign managers would have their eyes and minds abruptly opened by the response they'd get.
So because other nations aren't bothered we shouldn't be? You really don't understand do you?

slightly off topic but yesterday was the warmest day in scotland since 1906 when climate change was first invented!
Bloody weathers virtue signalling now *shakes fist at cloud*

Mate stop it with the 'you don't understand ' bollocks. To my understanding you've been a squaddie and a cowboy, I put against that my science degrees, and a career teaching and learning science. I don't claim a perfect understanding of the world and the universe, but I suspect I'm a fair way ahead in the race, with a good idea of what is known by science and what is not known - unlike most people.

You can shove your science degree and your ego. You have zero idea who I am, what I've learnt and what I do on a daily basis. You're basically saying because other countries don't bother then neither should we. Absolutely ridiculous. Take your tory "virtue signalling" comments elsewhere.

What pointless yet typically modern virtue signalling. They'd do better to get their squads cycling to European ties rather than jetting off everywhere. Better still, make their squads local lads, rather than mercenaries travelling the world to kick a bladder.
"Oh look at us, we're all bothered about the environment, so much so that we want all our fans to be (specifically) vegan, because the person who thought sell this up is a vegan and he wants everybody to see how vegan he is and everybody else should be a vegan too, even though Chelsea fans are terrible racist thugs and the football industry encourages hundreds of thousands into air travel to watch a hobby at dreadful environmental cost it doesn't matter because we'll be vegan for a day and we've asked you to cycle to the match."

I understand virtue signalling. I don't understand how you don't see this hollow, hypocritical tokenism as such.
Do you think this match will have a positive, negative or neutral impact on how football fans think about global warming?

The answer is a positive one. If it inspires one child to live a greener life and study climate change then it is worth it. Marketing tool or not.

I'm just going on what you've said about what you've done in the past wee man, don't get in a snit.

If I had an ego Like you claim, which I don't, I only have ever pursued truth, then I wouldn't have admitted that I don't know everything, in my last post.

Lastly I'm not saying what you allege at all, you are misunderstanding or have perhaps misread the sentiment. I've also never been a tory you absolute scoundrel- in fact I detest them, there's absolutely no need to call anybody that!

You are welcome to carry on being wrong, but I'm not entertaining your trolling with this any further. X

Trolling? I'm pulling you up on calling an attempt at doing something good "virtue signalling. It's the same term certain factions use when people stand up to racism or show support for the gay community.

I think many children will hear the cynical grumbling of the majority at the match and will leave with a negative attitude.
