Champions League revamp

No, remove them
I would have no problem with watching and thoroughly enjoying a PL where we are battling teams like Newcastle, Leeds, Leicester, Aston Villa, West Ham or Wolves for the title and for European places. Four out of these Super League members have been in a lower division during the time I have been going to matches (and five in my lifetime).

But that's where the disconnect is. The idea that this league makes every game "important". It's the opposite effect as there is no winning or losing in it.

If they have to play Burnley to win the league and lose...that's what the importance is. Every game counts at the end of a season. You lose to the "filler" you don't achieve anything.

It's literally plastic armchair, and sounding horribly xenophobic, international fans that have no connection to the clubs if playing Real in a fake competition is more exciting than playing Fulham on a jam packed football schedule 3pm on a Saturday.
I don't think Malaysian (for example) fans have any more interest in watching a dead rubber than local fans.
It's just not a competitive game.

Not for the foundation members.

It's like joining a cult, the elders get to have their way with you as often as they like and they can never be removed.

Imagine looking at Joel Glazier and thinking "yeah, he's the man with the long term vision and sustainable business model my club needs, I'm in!"

This is the most disgusting part honestly. But is it really all that surprising?

An owner creates a business and gives themselves full decision making.

Take that recent Valencia/Cadiz racial incident. The Spanish FA literally didn't do anything about it because they can do whatever they want. It'll be like that the entire time.

How's there no winning/losing to it? There'll be a winner at the end of the season, and there'll be a team at the bottom that loses a lot of games. That team is the 'filler'. And Arsenal and Spurs have decided they're ok with being the filler for 300m.

There won't be a winner - they will all be winners, none of them losers, forever. That's the whole point. 'Winning' that league would just be a 'cherry on top' situation, as finishing bottom of it for these founding clubs nets the same result regardless.

It's a joke.

I know what you're saying, you get 300m pounds for finishing bottom, but technically a team still wins it at the end.

There isn’t - it’s not relegation when the other 5 spots are on a yearly qualification basis.

That’s like saying Liverpool will be “relegated from the Champions League” if they don’t finish in the top 4
5 teams qualify each year meaning 5 need removing.

The clubs have hired InHouse Communications as a British public affairs agency to promote the launch. Katie Perrior, the chair of InHouse, was formerly head of communications for Theresa May during her period as prime minister, while she also worked on Boris Johnson's 2008 Mayoral campaign.

Also Katie Perrior-

My personal favourite was the Real Madrid president saying something along the lines of 'This will benefit all of football'. I mean how can somebody be so deluded.

They really should read the room, every single governing body is against this, every single 'other club' is against this, every single fan group is against this, governments are against this.

I am sure players will be looking on a bit worried as well, their dream of playing in a world cup may be shattered. Whether that threat will come about or not is another thing but are they willing to play chicken with the authorities over extra* club games (*If they are not removed from the domestic leagues).

You would hope the Premiership would have the balls to legally chuck them out, the EFL would then not be able to accept them. See ya later and enjoy the stale, inclusive 'competitive' league that no top class player wants a part of.
