Champions League revamp

It's a midweek competition, with all clubs remaining in their domestic leagues;

JP Morgan offering obscene amounts of money to these 'scab' clubs.
All clubs may not have the option of staying in their domestic league
If it’s 20 teams are they going to have 38 free midweeks ( with domestic and International fixtures ) to play the games

What they want, in essence, is to play in a new midweek competition that guarantees them forevermore a £300m a season advantage, whilst still playing in the Premier League.

No chance. Relegate them or, as said above (and to be honest, the more complete answer), revoke them from the football league entirely.
Yeah, relegation would only affect them for 1 season. Total ban from all domestic comps, for any team competing in this unsanctioned competition.

This can’t possibly go ahead with member clubs still playing in their domestic leagues, no matter what legal and financial backing it has.

It’s fundamentally unfair when only 6 clubs in the league have permanent access to a closed-off fund, while competing in the Premier League against the rest of the teams who don’t have that access.

My personal favourite was the Real Madrid president saying something along the lines of 'This will benefit all of football'. I mean how can somebody be so deluded.

They really should read the room, every single governing body is against this, every single 'other club' is against this, every single fan group is against this, governments are against this.

I am sure players will be looking on a bit worried as well, their dream of playing in a world cup may be shattered. Whether that threat will come about or not is another thing but are they willing to play chicken with the authorities over extra* club games (*If they are not removed from the domestic leagues).

You would hope the Premiership would have the balls to legally chuck them out, the EFL would then not be able to accept them. See ya later and enjoy the stale, inclusive 'competitive' league that no top class player wants a part of.

Because they know some people will swallow it? These guys modus operandi is to say whatever the hell they want and there'll be people that believe it. I think the other part of the quote was that the money/benefits will pass down through the football pyramid. Like what? It's literally only going to 12 clubs. We've been sold trickle down economics before.

Also you say - everyone is against this. People are, but it shows what powerful people can do with a bit of money. They can really do whatever the hell they want.

I mean when you look back, it's just years of over-respect from the Premier League, the Sky Love in, the jealousy from foreign clubs, the need to be "competitive", thats all it comes down to.

Liverpool, Man Utd & Arsenal want more, sides like Spurs, Arsenal, Milan don't want to play multiple European Qualifiers to make Europe, so UEFA created a third competition to reduce game load.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, made absolutely no secrets that they want financial parity to with teams like this, and security of the CL prizefund each season, how do you do that? Jump into bed with them.

I'm more than certain is that they'll go to the other Premier League teams, who are smaller than ourselves, and negotiate themselves a bigger slice of the cake, basically diluting the league and they'll stay.

It stinks, it's absolutely disgusting.
