Champions League revamp

The only real threat of this not happening is from the domestic leagues. If the Premier league say these clubs can't stay in the league it makes the whole thing a non starter.
But I think the Premier league will get a pay off from this super league and then they will stand down. The alternative is that this super league will offer 1 place to the Premier league in this new competition that can be won by one of the remaining 14 teams. But to me that would be far too many Premier league teams. For me Arsenal and Tottenham should not be involved in this competition, they don't really fit with the others

Say we qualified for this thing and had a stormer and went on and won it but had a proper crap prem season and didn’t finish in a qualifying spot (assuming there’s a qualifying process determined on domestic league standing) Would we not be in it the following season?
Not according to what’s been announced so far.

we’d also make about 1/3 as much from it as Liverpool would if they finished bottom that season

They feel entitled to the money despite half of them not earning anything over recent years. Honestly, this whole thing is genuinely sickening. At a time like this, football has been such an outlet for people genuinely struggling. The whole industry is a bubble, they want to grow the bubble. I think the bubble just burst. I effing hope so anyway as its corrupt to the core.

Oh fully agreed. Ultimately, whether they bring in a greater audience, they haven't made the Premier League the profit making machine which it is today, on their own (Despite what they think).

Honestly, it's enough for so many people to disconnect, because have football clubs ever been farther from being in touch with their fanbases? Is this what fans really want? No it's a greedy grab to profiteer.

To win the CL is worth £150m, to participate in the ESL is worth €400m just to play in the league, and only a further €30m to win it, there's no incentive to be successful, just greedy.

The response to this needs to be swift and brutal, else they show themselves up as having no backbone and won’t be taken seriously in the future. The Sky 6 can’t be allowed to dictate. Relegation is no good, they’ll need removal if they want to fester in a dead big money league with no real glory or threat in it.

Think they simply need to be told no, to shut up and do as they’re told, with a hefty points deduction and big fines.

No chance they can play in the PL with a split of £3.5b organised.

Just need to hold their nerve. Plenty of these clubs have players who won't play in the World Cup and plenty of others with aging stars.

A world cup with quality younger players featuring alongside big names not at these clubs would be very attractive.

Not to sponsors it wouldn’t. Sponsors (+ the national FA’s) want to see Messi, Ronaldo, De Bruyne, Kane, Salah etc. and a World Cup without them is unthinkable really. Wouldn’t be the spectacle that Qatar wanted. Sponsors may even withdraw. There is anger right now and many threats, but there will be a compromise at some point.

Well financially we'd be well off anyway, because even if we became a regularly fixture, we'd still earn under 50% of what Spurs would, just for participating. The Founding Members have looked after themselves, and that is the issue here.

Everyone on here is pretty robust in their condemnation of this idea, myself included. Just a thought though . . 12 Clubs have signed up but there is said to be a further three yet to do so. What if Everton were to announce that they are one of the three, be honest, what would your reaction be then?
I'd genuinely pack it in. We won't do that though, as much as the football decisions and lack of success do my head in, we are a fundamentally good club. Morally. If anything this whole escapade has made me even more proud to be a toffee.

This just highlights why way too many people are completely out of touch in this thread. Literally wishing for clubs to be destroyed on the back of the actions/decisions of some greedy scumbags.

It's completely bizarre. It's the owners/moneymen who need to be held accountable and punished in some way. There's people here who seemingly want clubs to be liquidated.
And what’s wrong with that
We would be doing the world a favour if we liquidated the scum
At least their neighbours and coach drivers could sleep easy at night

This competition should never exist. What is the point of UEFA if clubs can decide they can rewrite the rules.

Would be nice to see a statement form our club at some point. What does it mean for our strategy going forward, stadium etc. Sadly I think that if we’d have been more successful in recent years we’d have probably gone along with it as well, that’s the sad part.
