Champions League revamp

Laughing at Sky here.

They basically paid the top teams to leave the Football league and create the Premiership and have pouring money into it ever since.
The Clubs wouldn't be doing it if there TV money wasn't already there, for them to risk going public like this. Sky are just moving in on UEFA's cut of the money by cutting them out all together, they will just deal with the clubs directly in future.

UEFA were extracting the urine, they want to expand the "Champions League" even further because it is their big Cash Cow. The big clubs are fed up with having to fly to the middle of nowhere midweek every few weeks when they are now playing 2-3 days before and after it domestically. The New Euro League would allow clubs and the fans to plan better. No more draws for a fortnight's time where suddenly the team and the supporters have to work out how the hell they are going to get to Azerbaijan and back.

JP Morgan lent the finance to the glazers to buy United. Same bank now financing this.
United have basically eaten themselves and are now cannibalising their direct competitors.

He is right - couldnt agree with his words more. As I said yesterday, I dont disagree with a word he said; but when you own a football club pushing the boundaries of financing, collect your massive wages from the PL and have a huge interest in maintaining the status quo there is touch of hypocrisy from it.

That said kudos to him for going big, but he did go big to maintain one cartel in his interests rather than another
He said himself he’s not against money in football, it’s the closed shop nature that’s so abhorrent.

It’s all a matter of weather they have the balls to do it
It can be killed off quite quickly if they put their mind to it
The 6 clubs given 24 hrs to withdraw from the super league
If they don’t they are expelled from the PL with immediate effect
No trophies or titles this year
6 teams from the championship promoted and no relegation
FA award Leicester the FA cup and the Carabao cup is abandoned for this year
No player registered for any of the six is allowed play for England Scotland Wales or NI in the Euros
If the Spainish and Italian leagues followed suit it would die a death
However money will talk and the super league will be postponed and the super league clubs will get a bigger share of the pie and guaranteed European spots
They shouldn't be given the option to withdraw, they made their bed lie in it. I'm sure the fans will love them for this.

Clubs won't get kicked out, these huge clubs wouldn't join without looking into it legally

Its Man City being banned from the CL all over again

Everyone on here is pretty robust in their condemnation of this idea, myself included. Just a thought though . . 12 Clubs have signed up but there is said to be a further three yet to do so. What if Everton were to announce that they are one of the three, be honest, what would your reaction be then?
Everton rejected the proposals last year. They were going to be allowed in as a token "founder club" along with West ham. We condemned the announcement and backed the club's who where against it.

It is a damning indictment of the greed of the 6 English teams and the desperation of all 12 clubs involved. They are dying on their arses, with massive debts and are willing to destroy a global phenomenon for money.

There would be absolutely no point in Everton joining a European Super League. We'd be by far the weakest team in the league and would finish bottom every time. The premier league would be massively devalued if it were to lose the 'big 6' but I'd rather be winning a devalued league than getting relegated from a league we don't belong in.
Fingers crossed it doesn't happen at all.

I'd like to think the good majority of us would be against it even if would benefits us.

My reaction would be the same. Disgusted. I have supported everton because they are everton since 1983. Team like city hit the jackpot with money owners and that was the luck of the draw. There is no luck in this. Its criminal. Anti sport And disgusting.

I actually think they should be given the chance to withdraw.

Withdraw now: points deduction and 1 or 2 season European ban

Don’t withdraw: removal from the football pyramid, ban from all other domestic and European competitions, players no longer able to represent their nations.

Something like this is the only way to TRY to put them (and keep them) in line
