Champions League revamp

The formation of the Premier League in 1992 maintained the pyramid. That's the key difference. Founding members could drop out of it, new clubs could benefit from it.

There's no balanced view; it is solely about greed. The self-preservation of guaranteed money for the elite few. No risk. No "doing a Leeds".

We wouldn't have said no if invited. We are ran by the same types of rich tools that are orchestrating this. But that's irrelevant - this isn't sour grapes.
We were quite vocal in opposing project restart so I'm not so sure we'd have jumped into bed with these rats in this case either.

Yes, and we should be held up as an example to the rest of what can go wrong.

What happened us from 1992 is what will inevitably happen 15 of the 20 clubs in this Super League. In the end, it will be Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, and PSG who clean up. The rest will be also-rans. Some, such as Spurs, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid will be fodder. Anyway, without the Germans it won't be able to achieve its full objective. Watch Rummenigge and Bayern. What they do will be instructive. I could see him brokering a "compromise" with UEFA - which will give the clubs a lot but not all of what they are currently demanding.
True

...and they want More

Who would be interested in watching football if there was no 'sport' to it?

A closed shop where a select group have guaranteed participation immediately makes it stale. It automatically doesn't mean much, so won't have the prestige or draw that the genuinely massive football moments (World Cup semi finals, Champions League QF penalty shoot-outs, title-deciding PL games etc) have.

And so, as I posted last night, Leeds United should refuse to play the RS tonight as they are no longer an affiliated club by leaving the ECA. That would really stir the pot...

That's technically what should actually happen. It won't, but it should, especially with the six clubs breaking a very clear Premier League founding rule with what they've done.

They should now be automatically ineligible to compete in any current competition.

Liverpool fans wondering if Klopp would walk, like he's some sort of virtuous messiah of the masses.

He'll no comment and trundle on, obviously, you deluded bunch of cultist bells. He'll leave Liverpool the moment something better comes about.

Don't be surprised to see him pandering to the fans in public though still. Harp on about how it's a fans game and this threatens that concept, yet continue to plough through as Liverpool boss no doubt.

First of all, let me be clear. I have a local team that I support, I go to games when possible. I also visit lower league games, there's plenty of football for me to 'enjoy' on that level.

Now, when I'm watching CL footie, and paying top dollar to watch it (and tie myself contractually with my ISP for years as they're the only ones that provide CL in my country), I want the best games possible. Honestly, I don't want to watch teams like Red Star, Apoel, and similar, holding on for their dear lives for 90s mins, trying to not let in more than 5 goals per half.

The CL is not a quality product, and it's becoming worse and worse each year by letting minnow clubs have an easier route in, and by letting in even 4th placed teams from some domestic championships.

I just want good effing football, if Superleague is to happen, it'd guarantee that. Richest clubs with best players. Fine by me. Bring it on. As long as they don't dilute the quality of the league by expanding.

And yeah, I love the NBA type of league. Would be nice if they banned player buying/Selling in Superleague and instead just have player for player trades within the league.

Btw didn't Everton already told the "propa football" to eff off back in the 1990? You know, Premierleague founders and all that?

I'm pretty sure we spent most of the 90s trying to avoid relegation. I must have completely imagined that.

This new league is a closed shop and that's against sporting integrity. If you want to only watch 12 sides play each other abroad then you're obviously not a huge sports fan.

Let’s be honest, if as it is looking, Bayern, Dortmund, PSG are not in it as founding members, it’s a joke league anyway.

I’m bored of it all now already.
Knobheads will try and use it to try and act superior, and the riches of the football club they follows will be portrayed to be a thing of superiority to make up for their otherwise dull existence.
