Champions League revamp

There you go - it won't happen if the Government can effectively tax or hammer the hell out of them to the point financially it makes no sense to go ahead with the new league.

Unless these clubs have already done their homework.

I'm not sure how they could have done their homework. If the government wants to hammer them, it will hammer them.

Oliver Dowden, the sports minister, speaking in the House of Commons “Football is in our national DNA...I was appalled by the announcement made last night. It’s a tone-deaf proposal that goes against the spirit of the game. We will not stand by and let this happen.’ A small handful of owners want to create a closed shop. I believe passionately in our national institutions. They form solidarity across the generations. Now we will not hesitate to protect one of those national institutions, football. This will fall to the football authorities first, but if they can’t, we will. We will put everything on the table. They have put money before fans.”
Let us hope that he avoids helicopters until this has been resolved.

Their team and staff are not responsible for their owners disgusting betrayal. They've played, trained payed to watch games.
This season should be finished fairly.
It will be Arsenals last.

Fitting. A rotten deal involving money got them into England's top tier, another such deal will finally get them out of it.

As bad as this all is and as much as the clubs involved need seriously punishing the amount of hypocrisy getting thrown about is just off the charts.

UEFA, Premier League, Sky, BT and the rest are suddenly the paragons of virtue with a holier than though attitude as if they all haven't made the game about money and pushed whatever agenda has suited them over the years. Racism not even being tackled properly but the moment their finances get threatened they wheel out everyone under the sun to give their opinion.

We've all been sold financial fair play yet had to sit by and watch Man City cook the books, we've seen PSG buy Neymar and Mbappe as well as a fair few others it's all a load of absolute bollocks. We constantly get told about the big six and how amazing our league is yet we have a set of refs/officials which nobody can question, that can't be held accountable and quickly brush any mistake under the carpet.

If we want to be honest the system is broken, we are all being propped up by TV deals made on the back of the so called Sky 6 whether we want to admit it or not. Football needs a serious reset, if it takes these six teams moving away then so be it but some of the power needs to be redistributed to both the fans and the clubs.

Honestly I don't think you are saying anything there that most don't think already.

It might not all be getting discussed right now but it's understandable given this bombshell, that right now only this pressing part of the overall problem is on people's minds

How long before this becomes the World Super League, with 3 or 4 teams from the US added to the group. And how long before the majority of matches, if not all of them, are played Stateside.?

Make no mistake this is being driven by American TV. They've wanted control of the "soccer" scene for some time. They were unable to produce their own league so they've decided to buy it in. The people behind it will be more than happy if the European Clubs get kicked out of Europe. In fact that's probably been the end game all along.

The football fans of these clubs are being sold down the river, and it's all down to greed on behalf of the owners. I've little doubt our owner would have done the same if we had been asked.
