I think you guys are overestimating how big of a draw soccer is over here. Yes, it is growing and getting bigger but it is also nowhere close to any of our big sports. If they're making a powerplay for US money they're going to strikeout because it just isn't as large as what they're getting already domestically.

Think they know that. And are making a play to max out on the global cash. They have no idea how football actually is.

Pulling out of the ECA, and with the President of UEFA's statements today, it is obvious that the President feels UEFA have been shat upon from a great height, and furthermore, been made to look like absolute fools. He, and UEFA, will not take that lightly. And whatever UEFA orders, the constituent national football associations will have to go along with. Next 24 hours will be VERY interesting...

The leagues won't go along with UEFA because they have to - they'll go along with them because the alternative is an existential threat to them.

If the clubs tomorrow don't vote to kick the six out, they're insane. Yes, they'll take a financial hit, but they'll still exist and rake in profits in future years. All they have to do is survive. If they let this happen... All I can say is football will be dead and they deserve to die.

No surprises that Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all joined this Super League in the same season that the concept of a Big 6 closed shop in English football has been totally blown apart by West Ham, Leicester and Everton. Spurs and Arsenal especially have bigger international fanbases than West Ham, Everton and Leicester but both clubs fans are incredibly fickle internationally and Arsenal's too at home. Scumbags, the lot of them. Sold their souls long ago and this is just the Decree Absolute.

I really can't see this Super League happening. It's a legal minefield and could fall foul of anti-competition law. EUFA won't take losing their cash cow without retaliation and if they blacklist players and/or clubs then it could be a real problem finding referees, recruiting young managers and players too.
