Champions League revamp

Their team and staff are not responsible for their owners disgusting betrayal. They've played, trained payed to watch games.
This season should be finished fairly.
It will be Arsenals last.
The sad thing is the majority of right-minded fans of these 'elite' clubs will be dead against this horrendous idea too. The yanks will be hoping that we all go tribal and don't find a unified voice.

So basically all these clubs have done this on the proviso they won’t get chased. If PL have a backbone and call their bluff tomorrow, they will back down and this will collapse
If this proposal does indeed collapse there needs to be some serious fines, expulsions and bans in place. Can't be having them coming back year after year with another attempt.

Uefa seriously need to reduce how much they get from broadcasting too. They've called Uefas bluff now it's time to punish them, strip them of this power they have in our game.

It’s hard really as the season still has 5-8 games left to play for each team. So u can’t boot them out now as it voids the league. So the only way really is points deduction 100 points and up relegation to 6 teams

thats why I suggested give them until the end of the season to decide which league they want to play in for the next 23 years

That's what should happen regardless now.

If they follow through after a set deadline, it should then be permanent expulsion. Give them to 31 April then boom, gone.

How long before this becomes the World Super League, with 3 or 4 teams from the US added to the group. And how long before the majority of matches, if not all of them, are played Stateside.?

Make no mistake this is being driven by American TV. They've wanted control of the "soccer" scene for some time. They were unable to produce their own league so they've decided to buy it in. The people behind it will be more than happy if the European Clubs get kicked out of Europe. In fact that's probably been the end game all along.

The football fans of these clubs are being sold down the river, and it's all down to greed on behalf of the owners. I've little doubt our owner would have done the same if we had been asked.
The US teams don't have the global following for something like this. Also MLS has a salary cap and a pretty closed off system themselves.

Can't wait for transfer window after transfer window signing middle shelf players because all the top shelf players will want to play in this farcical league where the money will be.
The selling clubs will charge absolute top dollar for their players though. I mean they will rinse these plastic clubs for every player and they will have to pay it in order to compete

I think you guys are overestimating how big of a draw soccer is over here. Yes, it is growing and getting bigger but it is also nowhere close to any of our big sports. If they're making a powerplay for US money they're going to strikeout because it just isn't as large as what they're getting already domestically.

People will think "nah won't happen", but seriously, with them all withdrawing from the ECA and with UEFAs statements, this feels completely inevitable.
I agree, Tubey. Pulling out of the ECA, and with the President of UEFA's statements today, it is obvious that the President feels UEFA have been shat upon from a great height, and furthermore, been made to look like absolute fools. He, and UEFA, will not take that lightly. And whatever UEFA orders, the constituent national football associations will have to go along with. Next 24 hours will be VERY interesting...
