Champions League revamp

If the Premier League have to give permission, and they have clearly said they won’t, how is this not the end of it?

Fair question - what if the 6 say "we're playing Superleague whether you like it or not, you decide if you want us in the PL"

Every fibre of us wants to see the PL chuck them out, but when it comes down it, Parrish certainly implied there is not chance that they will

Btw there is no way JP Morgan would be financing this without there already being a mega broadcasting deal in place. My guess is amazon but possibly facebook as well.

Don't really feel that would happen as you would have heard it by now, stock changes, rumours etc. And none of them are overly committed to live sports at this moment in time.

so a salary cap will be in place. 55% of the turnover on wages.

Man city have just gone to war with UEFA over FFP and now wnat to be part of a league that will be restricted by it?

The thing I find baffling is even if the sky six plan came to fruition and they were able to retain league and european tournament status unscathed (seems implausible) how would it even be feasible? Would it just lead to further hoarding of bloated extensive squads or would they prioritize the spectacle of the super league at the expense of everything else. Players are already breaking down at increasing rates due to the condensed covid season so I don't know how that would work even in their ideal scenario.

That's the one.

They'd be playing reserve teams in the Prem, youth teams in the cups, because the league position ultimately means diddly squat. They could afford to finish 12th in the Prem because the difference between there and 4th is relative peanuts to what they'd be making guaranteed every season in the Super League.

Oh I for sure would. Wouldn't be a moments hesitation - if this gets the go ahead and they are allowed to stay in the domestic league, I'm done immediately with no regrets whatsoever.

I used to be a wrestling fan; when it became clear that wrestling wasn't the same, I walked away easily. I'm a "legacy fan" and bloody proud of it.
That's not something I would publicly admit to if I am being honest :):)

A. DOMESTIC TV MONEY B. OVERSEES TV MONEY
1. 50% is shared equally 100% shared equally
2. 25% is merit money
3. 25% is the facility fee

What on earth are facilities?

They have enough money. They aren't thick, and namely, the agents who manage them aren't either.

There's a big difference between having more money because you get a new deal or something, and ultimately being complicit in taking a team away from the very essence of its being - to compete in a fair environment.

Think you're missing the whole reason for this Super league

Not to mention that CL places could then go to the teams who finish 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th.

If this esl has the potential to stream ppv games to asia and rake in hundreds of millions per game - why can’t the PL do that too?

These clubs built their international brands on the back of the competitive nature and setup of English football - new brands will be built without them.

Distribution of tv rights payments must be enshrined.

To be fair, wrestling in the 1980s was a bit like Coronation Street in the 1980s: often hilariously funny with some very clever scripting. Nowadays, both are humourless abominations.

The difference being that we are not seeking to exclude those clubs or get special status. Do we have different ambitions? Of course we do - but not to the extent of giving ourselves better rights than them. This is where we differ from the renegades right now.

I don't mean the club I mean you personally!

I don't like dismissing other clubs and putting them into pigeon holes. Palace, Burnley etc are not there just to exist, they just cut their cloth accordingly.
