Computer games.

PC nerds, I need some advice por favour.

I think I’m going to move from PS4 to PC. I’m probably going to go for a pre-built/custom built PC, as I want one point of contact for a warranty, and I want to avoid daft GPU prices. Not a chance I trust myself building my own. My budget is about £1,200 - £1,400 but that needs to include a mouse, keyboard and monitor.

I’m a complete PC novice but basically I want to play DayZ in as high settings as possible with mods added etc. I don’t want to have to upgrade it for 3 years. It’s all I really play so the PC will be almost solely for that. Also I’d like to give iRacing or rFactor a go at some stage.

I currently play on a PS4 Pro on a 49” 4K TV and I don’t want to drop resolution. So maybe a 1440p set up on a 27” monitor would be similar? A 4K set up is probably beyond my budget.

Anyone got any tips on where to start, what to avoid etc?

Any help much appreciated.

Something like this? https://www.scan.co.uk/products/sca...b-ddr4-12gb-nvidia-rtx-3060-1tb-m2-ssd-win-10

Leaves you room for accessories in your budget. Looks very respectible that PC for the price.

That looks good value compared to what I’ve been looking at. Thanks mate.

For some reason I was under the impression that AMD was superior to Intel, so I’ve mainly been looking for those. Is this not the case?

Can only echo what @longers said mate, AMD's CPU's are king now, however you're just not goint to see a worthwhile difference in what you want to use it for.

Similar question to @Baines' left foot but less demanding specs required...

I only need a base unit and don't need anything like as much graphics power. Long as it plays Civilization 6, FM21 with plenty of leagues and large database and something like Crusader Kings 3 at a decent tilt with good graphics I'm more than happy with that.

Anything recommended coming in around the £500 mark?

I'd recommend you and @Baines' left foot both have a look at Dell. They regularly have good deals and you can find stackable money off vouchers pretty easily.

BLF, if you can find a 15% code for this https://deals.dell.com/en-uk/productdetail/83le then that'd be a great deal.
