I understand we have to prioritise the PL and may have to rest key players for us. But IMO if we reach Wembley - it can give us a massive boost.

Players are handed confidence and an even greater incentive to stake their claim for a game there. The fans can look forward to a big day out too and get their batteries recharged.

If we can hang on on level terms to HT we should just go for it.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Sometimes when a team consciously tries to avoid injuries or suspensions they get them in any case.

There'll be a great away support for them and the fans deserve a great day out down there at Palace and a trip to Wembley.

We'll play the strongest team available because it's really all we have

I'd like him to try 1 or 2 of the kids plus Patterson. Maybe Dobbin and Onyango; see how they get on

It's a nice game to win, not a priority, so he can afford to be a more open
I really doubt Lampard will think that way. He was a serial winner as a player and I would reckon he would be thinking he want to stay up and win the cup? For me go with the best team we can field, so if we go out, they all have a break to recover. It is Palace after all, not Man City or Liverpool. We have to give it our best shot.

100% agree Dave, too many Evertonians have never even seen us in a final, we have to give it a go!

Dave, I can't believe it , but I agree with everything you say (in this post, at least).
This is the FA Cup, which we haven't won for for 27 years. Even getting to the semi-final would give us a tremendous boost for our remaing games this season.

What if we end up doing a Martinez?

What if we end up doing a Martinez?

Thats football.

We enjoy the Cup Win (which for many of us including myself and my little lad it'll be the 1st trophy we'll have ever seen us win) and go again.

Tomorrow has absolutely no correlation on the remaining league games.

Those happy to see us throw tomorrow when we have 2 weeks off following are bonkers imo.

NEA if we lose 5-0 as long as we stay up.
But it's not a case of the Cup OR the League. We can't trade losing against Palace for staying in the Premier League. It doesn't work like that. Football is a game where confidence is a huge factor for a successful team. The reverse also applies - when your head goes down so do your chances of winning. For evidence of this, have a look at our results this season.
This is the real game, not FIFA22 or Football Manager or whatever 21st century version of Subbuteo you kids play these days.
