David Moyes

I don't want him back at all, ever*. Thanks for the memories and all, but going back to Moyes would be a step sideways at best. Even Dyche isn't the same nihilist, which is impressive given our plight really.

Moyes genuinely said "I don't think we can beat their U14s" when asked if they can win against City. Dyche might speak some proper nonsense but at least he goes for the more diplomatic "we'll do our best/we have a game plan" ffs.

* Maybe a DoF or scout tho, I guess.
Hes many, many layers above Dyche, its not even a contest.

In what way?

As a man to say the right things to get people going - not really, he keeps proving this by being more boring/negative than Dyche himself, and that takes some doing.

As manager - not so sure anymore, both suffer from the same main character syndrome anyway. Dyche can prove he's better if he kicks on and adapts, but the doubts are as big as Chico's head. Then again to prove you're the better of the 2 here isn't saying much. Both teams last season had similar records and one spent actual money to be this crap, and had no points taken away.

1) i can say that with certainty

2)yeah, your right we should of been winning the league every season with our 3m spends a season.

3) if that stat is true, which i doubt to be honest as i remember villa, Newcastle, west ham, spurs and Portsmouth all had players on 100kpw while we still had the 50kpw wage cap. Id imagine its completely skewed by the fact that we were one of the only teams during moyes tenure to actually stay in the PL the while time.

4) moyes regularly won against top sides at goodison. His away form was poor against top sides but so were alot of other managers. Hes miles better then dyche, genuinely if you cant see that then i cant help you.
£3m spends per season you say 🧐?

Yep agree there if we are talking tactical nous maybe not style and attitude when playing better opposition, without sounding like @Zatara

Think Dyche belongs with the likes of Big Sam and Pulis

Moyes with Redknapp and Hodgson

Will only be a footnote in football history not a chapter

They have been a manager for around the same time.

Moyes has won a trophy and got a team to the CL
Dyche has never finished higher then 7th.

Not even close.

Moyes spent roughly 13m NET over 11 years.

I dunno, last season people have definitely proven that Dyche's amazing Europa League finish and his promotions from the Championship mean a lot more than some meagre top 4 finish, as Burnley are a small club, or something. :hayee:

Nah I get it, but I'm saying currently specifically. Right now they're more or less a copy of each other, just 1 eats worms and the other thinks he's funny with stupid tidbits that make him look ridiculous.

Well, we currently have 1 of the worst managers in the whole league.

So im not really gonna turn my nose up at a winner like Moyes.

EASY AS THAT

personally don’t hold much weight in net spend.
Cba looking but iirc Man City’s net transfer spend is a £200m profit over the last 5 years or something daft.
Moyes did however break multiple transfer records (incoming and out going) one of which was a golden boot runner up who he instructed to chase balls into corners to cross for Tim Cahill or The Yak 🤷🏻‍♂️

I dont even know who this is.

7) Manchester City: £-214.04m
24/25: £23.68m

23/24: £-116.7m (Champions)
22/23: £9.97m (Champions)
21/22: £-38.55m (Champions)
20/21: £-93.5m (Champions)

But yeah, Net spend isnt the best metric, but its what the lad meant who you replied to.
