2024/25 David Moyes

He's not only worth £12m David

Like a teen again. Soaking up all the media. I checked out with all that extra stuff long long ago. Was barley arsed with pressers the last couple years.

Will be paying attention now. I won't be getting up in the morning to watch soccer AM hoping to get a few minutes of something everton related but I'm back baby.

And we won nothing with Moyes .
But he had 11 years .
But the truth is even disregarding Moyes and Martinez , we have had nothing to celebrate for nearly three decades now .
I remember the dismay when we hadn’t won
anything for 15 years before Kendall brought salvation .
Ultimately we are rightly regarded nowadays as one of the most nondescript clubs in the country and I harbour little hope of that state ending soon with this appointment,
But there is the beer .😁
Surely we need to try and get back to where we were though first? Gone from being “best of the rest” as you pointed out, to now scrapping relegation every year, which coincidentally is what we did pre Moyes as well.

He also got West Ham competing higher up and winning a trophy.

Surely, if we want to ever be serious about winning things, we need to build to it and get a stable base to start from again, something we know he can do for us.

We weren’t employing anyone who was going to take us from where we are to winning things in the space of a couple of years.

I get it’s a bit underwhelming with all the buzz about new owners and new stadium, but he can serve a much needed purpose for us and is a better manager than given credit for.

Please, just PLEASE, no more references to 'plucky Everton punching above their weight' or Moyes, himself, talking of 'taking knives to a gunfight'.

We want and need to compete at the highest level and face whatever other clubs we come up against as no better or bigger than us. Moyes' mindset needs to be one of instilling confidence rather than simple acceptance within his players and the fanbase. No more playing down our chances of winning before a game even kicks off but actually bigging up his players with expectations that they can and will win so that if they don't they feel and understand the disappointment as much as the fans and want to do better next time. We haven't had that sort of psyche these past seasons so now is the time and, hopefully, we have the man to bring that mentality back into the Club.
Im sure if everton give him the funds he won't be able to say that. He wasn't lying back then. Maybe shouldn't have sang it in the press but when you are competing with mega rich clubs and your budget depends on selling your best player for years. You would think it.

But as I said I hope the owners can shut is mouth on such matters with the cash.

I found that encounter to be warm and genuine. Good on him.

The best part of that for me mate, is the players coming out and witnessing that, how every single person, in every single role is appreciated, acknowledged and valued and part of the team and the club they represent.

Culture, standards and values come from the top down. Those grounds lads work twice as hard today and if he needs anything their end, they’ll take pride in sorting it.

No mistake Coleman is the last player Moyes brought through and developed here still playing, he has the same values and standards.

It might seem insignificant but it’s a massively important part of leadership.

You bring everyone with you.

Looks and feels the polar opposite of his predecessor. Class

Loved that tbh, he looked genuinely made up to be here and happy to see and speak to the groundsmen, little things aren’t so little.

Yes, and it’s a huge change from the perfunctory shell of a personality that Dyche showed outwardly.

We never caught sight of the real man, I don’t think. He was too busy keeping fans at arms length and delivering a wall of impenetrable platitudes and pretty hollow words in press conferences.

Moyes isn’t perfect, but at least you get a sense of the real man with him.

So glad for the most part everyone is on board.

Thays how it was back in the very early 00s. As much faith as I have in Moyes we are just as important.

Lets shake this toxic fans BS off from the media and bring the pride back.
Toxicity more to do with social media than actual context of Moyes etc. Take most toxic fans, be it here or elswhere and any subject for that matter with pinch of salt.

In Moyes we trust...

However, reserve the right to be toxic as any other if we go on and beat Dyche non winning run or losing from a position of 2 nil with minute to go. ;)
