Is this something that can be improved at this stage? Who knows. But DCL brings much more to the game aside from scoring goals. When Maupay wasn't scoring goals (which he didn't for us), he was a total liability out there. Same with Niasse

There's no argument that he brings more to the game than goals.

If Beto or Maupay was banging in one every week though you wouldn't have people shouting for DCL to start over them because he runs the channels better.

He's undoubtedly the best of what we have but call me strange for wanting strikers that score goals as well as run about a bit.

He's brilliant in the air, but I wouldn't say he's above average anywhere else.

Hold-up play is decent enough, but still pretty basic; can't really beat a man, find a killer pass or create a chance out of nothing. Even the likes of Carroll and Crouch had it in them to score a screamer out of nowhere.

This, he is meant to be rapid by all accounts but never beats a man and when he runs clear he is usually caught by the defender.

He may be quick over 100m but how often are you in a 100m race with a defender on a football pitch…. Never .

His finishing is basic, hold up play basic, control is hit and miss and his decision making and execution of a final pass is well below average and is on par with doucs .

Well in a world where rumours are leaked constantly to fill pages and get clicks and it is impossible to keep a secret. As far as I’m aware there has never been an official bid for DCL…. Not even a rumoured bid tbh.

I think he will go because he hasn't signed a contract we will struggle to find someone who brings his skill set.
