Why is this never brought up in defense of our other forwards who don`t score? Surely if this is the reason why DCL isn`t getting goals the same should be the case for Beto.

To some degree this is true, especially for poor strikers. Quality strikers doesnt rely on their teammates to put it on a plate for them in the same way, they create situations out of nothing. Hence their high demand and price-tag.
We could do with improving both "the service" and our CF tbh.

Pretty good point there, Beto scored 5 in 1150 minutes, DCL scored 6(also 2 pens) in 2630 minutes. So its eems hard to say Beto is poor and DCL is good but he didnt get good service.
What are we missing then if Beto starts, but more goals? Surely if service would improve for DCL, then it would for Beto as well.
