A fully fit on form dcl is an asset, a fullt fit on form dcl we have seen about 5% in the last 3 years, we absolutely cannot afford to take a chance on losing him on a free given what he's given us in the last few years.
A striker who might not be as good "on his day" but is consistent would be far more valuable than the current dcl

My own view is that DCL is about as good a striker as we can reasonably expect to attract to the club.

The washed torres at chelsea( just looked and he did go 18 games at chelsea without a goal, but only half of them where starts ) we all know torres stunk the gaff out at chelsea

They have all picked him because he’s the best we have … just like Harrison is the best RW we have , like Coleman at 36 is the best rb we have … trouble is what we have is not very good.

Top teams have these , we don’t , so he has to show enough for a top team to buy him, which none have ever tried to do.
He’s 27? And nobody has ever tried to take him off us . That is because his control and build up play and his finishing are poor.
He is not even close to having the skill set to play for a team that counters quickly or that requires accurate quick passes to break down opposition teams .
If he ever scores 15+ goals in a season for any team … put Callum Wilson in the same team and he would outscore him as would most of prem strikers
