There was obviously no real interest in signing him or he’d have gone. Newcastle apparently had a sniff if you believe the rumours. If a team wants a player enough they get him, especially if they offered us money in our predicament at the time. He’s a bang, bang average footballer who doesn’t even make up for his lack of technical ability with hard graft. Easiest forward in the division for defenders to play against.

Crikey, he’s 28 soon and still is nowhere near 60.

So you're saying Dom peaked at 23?

Seems so coz i think he's now on about 56 PL goals.
So its about 16 goals in nearly 5 years. And i think half of them are pens.
Ouch.

He did really, he started getting quite serious injuries around that time, and honestly he hasn't looked the same player really.

I’m not even sure we have a good forward at the club right now. It’s definitely something that needs sorting. Dom has been somewhat of a huge let down as has Beto. But let’s be honest the whole team is to be fair.

I don’t know whether it’s an illusion but Dom seems to mistime his jumps quite a bit and I always think he should be winning the ball more. I think he has the ability to be a very good player but something just hasn’t clicked. I don’t know whether it’s down to him, bad management, or a bit of both.

No, we don't have a solution going forward. But I still think it's a mix between the quality of players and the tactical limitation of the manager's team.

Dyche probably gets almost everything out defensively, but unfortunately at the cost of our offense. We scored 12 goals on our own in 16 games.

DCL has 9 big chances missed, but I think 5 of them at least were against Ipswich.

So what we did was priced him out of moves all summer, then kept picking him for every game, whilst not giving him anything but hopeful half punts up the pitch for 90minutes.

What a club.

Our striker who can't hit a barn door is making demands to the club and the manager.

Maybe he should keep his head down and do some shooting practice instead of getting ahead of himself?

You don`t think that his wage demands might have scuppered any potential move in the summer? Even if he was just looking to match what he is getting here might have been too much for a club to commit to pay him. But give it 12 months and having no transfer fee to pay he might be able to get that deal with a nice signing on fee on top.
