Duncan Ferguson the coach

Yes, and there are examples of it all across the world. I really don't see the problem with it myself, as long as the coaches are good enough then an Everton connection should be celebrated not bemoaned.
Is Duncan management material his disciplinary record was appalling as a player just with us.........

Where would you rate Slaven Bilic, Roy Keane, just a couple of examples, Joey. Mind not saying Dunc would be a good manager, oh no jury is out on that one.

I suppose you never know until someone tries it, but he doesn't strike me as a natural manager. Bizarrely, for someone who was such a big character as a player, he doesn't seem to have that confidence and swagger that the best managers have. He almost seems a bit nervous to me when he's interviewed or seen on the bench.

Unsworth was the one who was called upon - not big Dunc- that suggest he is a coach only for us ...... mainly with the centre forwards etc....

The only thing that surprises me about Dunc is that he keeps surviving the various sackings over recent years, it would not surprise me if he is one of Bill's spies on the training ground.

I think his continued employment would suggest he might actually be a good coach.

Oh sorry the fact he’s part of the Everton illuminati, Bill Kenwright militia and big conspiracy that’s kept us down for 25 years is a much more likely scenario isn’t it?

that's probably true but he was hardly the greatest centre forward himself, im not quite sure what advice/coaching he can offer them.
He had the potential to be an outstanding world class centre forward I seen clips of him whe he was young - he is only an icon for us not a legend we supported him through his personal troubles - one hopes his role is to pay us back !

Oh i know, i was growing up in Scotland when he came through at Dundee Utd and i remember him showing some promise, he went to Rangers far to quickly imo and it all started to go downhill from there. One thing i would say though is that him and Rom seemed to get on very well and Rom said that in final season of goalscoring he did get support/help from Dunc, not sure what though. I just think he seems like teflon Dunc sometimes, maybe he does do more than we think.

He does'nt have to, he has managed various clubs, Dunc is just a backroom boy and i was just saying that i am surprised he has survived the various regime clearouts that's all.
No, you were suggesting that somebody wouldn't be able to coach players in a particular position unless they were world class there themselves. I'm helpfully pointing out how ridiculous that notion is by reminding you of the limited playing career of our head coach.
