Needed the freekick to go in, easy win from there. Very unlucky but given away a winning position again - it'd be nice to be able to just sit on a 1-0.

Also young Barkley showed his naivety a couple of times and nearly gifted them a goal. Clearly demonstrating that Moyes knows better than the most of us on here and picks more experienced players in his place.

You mean like in the time Barkley was on the pitch both Distin and Jelavic got caught in posession and nearly gifted them a goal?

Quite.

Also as demonstrated by the Leeds fiasco where the "give youth a chance brigade" were proven massively wrong - but it won't stop them moaning about it.

You mean like Oldham, Shrewsbury, Brentford, Reading and Tranmere fiascos where the first team got knocked out?

Exactly.

We needed to capitalise but we were unlucky not to all game. Wouldn't have been easy, but we deffinitley wouldn't have lost! Still, played well. We need to use this performance to kick-on. Newcastle is gonna be a huge game. If results for Spurs and Arse go against us, then we need a win to stay in touch. Will be tough.

Agree! Good writing.

Considering our patched up team, we were absolutely tremendous today. We hit the woodwork 3 times and forced both of their keepers into a couple of brilliant and hugely important saves each. On another day we could have had 2 or 3 at half time and I can't help but think Fellaini and Gibson would have run rings around that gobshyte Luiz in center mid and Coleman and Mirallas would have torn Cashley a new one, he was struggling enough with Naismith and Jagielka FFS.

Hugely frustrating result, but we have had a brilliant 2012 and are still in a very strong position for European football qualification.

Onwards and upwards blues.

all these games have shown the importance of having a top class finisher at the club, if we had a suarez or demba ba we would be atleast 6-7 points better off Kenwright needs to sort himself out and give moyes the cash to bring in another forward,

Heitinga out
Anichebe out
gueye out

Lescott in on loan
Diame/Ofoe in
a striker than can score IN!!!

I've highlighted the section of this post which is retarded

Only followed the game on here/bbc, but from what I can gather, we went toe to toe with the Champions of Europe. Dominated for 20-30 mins. Hit woodwork twice, had 3 key players out, missed a few ace chances, and their keeper might have been MOTM if he played the whole game.

Seems to me that Chelsea were lucky to get the points today. It happens. Good performance from the boys, and you cant really ask for much more IMO.
