Everton LGBT Supporters Group

Hey everybody my name is Jorge Rodrigues. I have been an everton supporter for the past yr or so (new to watching BPL) and love this football club so much. I have started up a supporters group focusing on the LGBT community (or people who support LGBT rights) for everton supporters. I am doing that because I feel we can be ahead of the curve and get a huge group of people to support these supporters but also the causes they bring with it. The group's league is Rainbow Toffees- The Everton LGBT Supporters Group. I am trying to get a huge amount of support because I know globally there is a ton of people who are gay or lesbian (or who support their rights) that are evertonians. So I thought this would be a good way of bringing it to ppls attention. I am hoping to get enough support to make it the official support group from the everton football club. Thanks again guys.

The point is that the vast majority of Evertonians do not care whether you are LGBT or straight, it is a complete irrelevance. The only people who appear to care and wish to differentiate is the LGBT people themselves.

but u have some supporters on here thinking the group will be a grindr or a place to get laid which is completely false... I just want to have a place where LGBT memebers can come together and support our team. I do not think its differentiating its just adding another sector of ppl to a supporters group. I mean there is a group on everton's website related to those who are disabled.. now I am all for them and support them with their group but does that differentiate them from all other evertonians? In this case what would be the difference btwn disabled group and lgbt group?

I don't honestly see the need to differentiate at all mate, surely all you're doin is inviting stupid comments and behaviour by doing so? If I were a gay man I wouldn't want to attend a game or hang out with a group of exclusively gay supporters.

That's my point though, why should you differentiate based on gender or sexual orientation? There's every reason to have a group for disabled supporters so that they can share resources and have their particular needs met by the club and other football clubs around the country.

Last time I checked gender or sexual orientation was not a basis for special or particular needs? Unless of course you think it is? If so, on what basis?
