Everton Youth Teams Thread

You said you don't know any PL team with as many former players as coaching staff than us.

You don't know who coaches the academies at City, United, Chelsea etc. so how can you say that?

We have Dunc in our staff but Phelan in United's played for United so...
Just at a quick look, Chelsea have Andy Myers, Claude Makelele & Jon Harley.....of the ones i found (and obviously Jody Morris before that)

To me he has more to offer in terms of advice for the majority of the academy kids than someone like Baines.

Baines only knows success whereas Baxter knows the darker side of football.

Wait, a consumate professional offers less than a lad with a train-wreck record?

Let's just ignore the fact neither of us know who would objectively be the better coach of the two because histroy proves that playing career doesn't dictate that but If I had a lad in the academy I'd definitely want a bloke like Baines on his shoulder.

If Baxter is showing talent as a coach then I'm all for him being on board by the way.

I wasn't talking about his talent as a coach in that post?

I felt I had to quantify it by mentioning that he might be a good coach given your track record for nibbling on inane musings.

Ok then, I feel belittling Baines' prowess as a coach (which includes lifestyle advice) because of his professional attitude is truly bizarre. Baxter may have made a ton of mistakes, that doesn't equate to him being able to offer more to developing minds.

I never belittled Baines' prowess as a coach or mentor either.

That's not belittling anyone. If I said Baines had nothing or to little to offer then I would be but I didn't say that.

Do you have a habit of trying to put opinions in other peoples mouths?

I'm sure the hypocrisy of that is lost on you.

Had a pretty torrid couple of months so maybe I'm not posting straight but entirely sure I haven't misrepresented anything here. Either way, this doesn't make good reading for anyone else so I've said my piece and I'm done.
