Still underwhelmed and need to see more from him.

So far the money spent has been from the Stones fee and i'm still waiting for this signing of intent.

The silence is defeaning in regard to Mr Moshiri.

While I can appreciate your frustration, like most of us with this Summer as a whole, the silence was broken yesterday. He can in fact talk.

It amuses me how some buy a season ticket and assume that entitles them to demand answers from the club on various subjects.

To put things bluntly - we're not shareholders, we're customers. The club is a business and doesn't have to provide answers to anything really. Like any other business, if you don't like the service/product being provided you are of course free to take your business elsewhere.

When Moshiri is ready to announce his vision of the new stadium - he will. Until then, quite rightly, I would expect it all to be kept very much in-house.
Probably the most frighteningly alien post I've read on here.

No mate, we dont have the right to go elsewhere really do we? And we're not buying a commodity either are we really?

If you think that's what a football club is all about then I'd suggest you read a bit of the history of the club you support. It's a club that's provided outdoor relief to workers and their families who couldn't put food on the table; it's a club that's donated millions to local hospitals and welfare programmes throughout it's history; it's a club, in short, that prides itself on NOT JUST BEING AN ENTITY THAT TAKES AND DOESN"T GIVE BACK.

That's the heritage that Moshiri walks into. So sorry for having the temerity for actually requesting where this feller specifically can bring to fruition any plan he might have. After all we're all just merely a customer in the free market football industry aren't we?

The money side of transfers is so complex that it's almost pointless trying to speculate on net spend, whether it's the Stones money, whether it's the TV or Moshiri's 'own'. The only question we should be bothered by is 'are the transfer dealings moving the club forward?'. For the first window in a long time I think they are. If you include the deals for Koeman and Walsh, each acquisition by Moshiri so far (Stekelenburg aside) has gone to a premier league team and fronted up the money to take their manager, chief scout, or best player. Captain of Swansea? Ours. Title winners chief scout? Ours. Palace's best player? Ours.

The negative shouts on here are claiming 'yeah but it's only palace, it's only Swansea' but these are the same voices that a few seasons back were claiming that Palace Stoke Southampton etc. would all be overtaking us due to our inactivity in the transfer market. Now players, managers, and scouts, are in no doubt which is the 'biggest' club with the more ambitious project.

Excellent post.

I'm not denying that, I'm simply stating that Football (like a lot of sports) ceased being a "sport" years ago and has become more of a business. Perhaps the end result of huge amounts of money being injected by Pay TV. It was a totally different story before Sky when it was broadcast on terrestrial TV. Clubs are being run more and more like a multinational company - a sign of the times sadly.

How much time does he actually spend dealing with Everton? Doesn't he have interests in several big companies, that would take up a large part of his time?

I wouldn't disagree with any of that, and hopefully it continues. However, today, in 2016, more than ever, in order to do all of the above, you have first of all got to get the 'business' side of the game working well, so that its failure does not impact on the good work and good will that sociologically, football clubs provide in abundance.

It's not relegated to some Golden Age of jumpers for goalposts and Bovril at HT though mate. Look at the EitC work that's done in the name of the club; look at the way that the club insist on competitively price tickets for kids and the elderly to try and take them with them; look at the official fan forums that should act as a go between for information. They all point in the opposite direction of EFC as a business and an exclusively money making operation that shouldn't be asked to communicate future plans.

I dont disagree. But how does that stand in the way of the club giving some idea how that will be achieved to fans being asked to have faith in a plan for the future?

Lets put it this way Dave, would you have still preferred BK in charge with no money? Give Moshiri a chance. The time he has been there is not that much and as for a stadium issue surely cannot reveal anything at this time. If it was Peel or any other landowner involved they may or could throw their toys out of the pram and tell us to do one.

Not sure how much you or the oth rs want him to reveal??????? Already expressed intent regarding players.

Until there is a certainty about some details of, for example, the proposed new stadium, it is best for nothing to be said. There will always be conjecture, and some element of 'holding the board to account' but I'm sure the board would not be uncomfortable with that, provided they could release factual information when they deemed it correct to do so. What they will not want to do is be drawn into debate based on what might happen before some facts are cast in stone. I think even if a direct question was put at this point, the answer would be 'we are progressing and will let you know as soon as something definite is known.' I know that's how I would handle it if I were the board. Sometimes there is a thirst for information when there is in fact little or no information available.

Totally and utterly, in the past we have announced things before they were even off the drawing board, leading to embarrassment. Mosh is quiet a proper businessman and he will conduct his business behind closed doors. It's our football team yes, but it's also a business and the guy holding the purse strings can do things the way he wants. Personally it's refreshing, some of our prior announcements were just the ultimate bodge job leading to jokes and laughter from those looking in. I mean how pathetic was the 'Peoples Club' moniker? What a lame thing to be called, it's not as if we are a political party. This guy is serious, he has a plan and whether we like it or not he has the right to do things how he chooses.
