Damage limitation. It seems Mosh has learned from his J Whie embarrassment. Assuming it's really from him.
"Questions are obviously being asked ... Steve Walsh, as he could not force some of the deals over the line."
It seems Walsh is the scapegoat while BK is praised. "Everton can thank Kenwright who made it a personal mission to retain the Belgian international with a £75million price tag."
Reassuring as it's supposed to be but I hope we see actions to back it up and a massive decline of the hype.

I could be wrong but this is how I see it.

He bought us as an investment. He's going to build us a new stadium, then sell us on at a profit.

The tv money is going to help him gather the finance to build the stadium, but he won't hang around long after the new stadium is built. We're just an investement.

It may benefit us in the long run once the stadium is built, but that's all we are, an investment.

Forget him pumping loads of money in to the club, he's going to put in enough to keep us competitive while the stadium is built and he can make a return on his investment.

Unless he shows us that this isn't ALL of the case by future deeds, this theory is up there with a decent shout.

worst case (for us) Moshiri sees a bigger percentage profit / outlay per timeframe in a Crocky stadium than a proper job at the riverside.

So, the paper that cannot be quoted here for good reason is reporting that Moshiri is not pleased with the execution of our dealings and "has insisted to those close to him that we will not make the same mistakes again in forthcoming transfer windows – or heads will roll."

I think it is safe to assume that in January will be landing players in each position we are still seeking to fill.

No quotes from anyone, doesn't really add anything does it? For all we know, BK is very pally with them and has briefed them in his favour and looking to point the finger at someone else. Walsh has been in the job 5 minutes, a bit tough to expect him not only to identify the targets but get the deals sealed as well. What was everyone else doing then?!

Some of that is utter fantasy.

Spun beyond all recognition. Can tell where it's originated from

That's some pretty bitter stuff.

It reads like Bill throwing Walsh under the Moshiri bus, via his friends at Trinity Mirror.

Like something out of 'House of Cards' or in Kenwright's case 'the thick of it'

Moshiri needs to clamp down on this.

We can't be having one board member briefing against the management team at the club. It's not on.

You have to wonder if there is some sort of internal power struggle going on.

Granted if all we have been told is correct then bills days are numbered but he/his people within the club have undertaken some clear deflection tactics via this & the Dom King article in the mail.

As far as I was aware multiple posters & reports had suggested sasha & moshiri met riaola to convince him that lukaku should stay yet this article is giving kenwright the credit. Don't buy that at all

Lol, An arse covering exercise.

Moshiri failed.

End of story. Bogus 'interest' in top players followed up by zip.

The fact he's sending the clowns of the national media out to spin this hard luck story has alarm bells ringing even louder.

I think it's your mate Bill that is sending people out to brief the press Dave

Unofficially

I thought that Walsh was a scout at Leicester. In other words he has no experience or expertise in transfer negotiations. I'm not aware either of anyone else with those specific skill sets being brought in under the new regime. Whilst there may be an increased level of business acumen within the club, transfer dealings (I guess) require niche skills. That's possibly why certain clubs pay higher fees to agents. Moshiri would of known why Walsh was appointed and what exactly he brings to the club.

If Walsh is in the firing line, and if my assumptions above are correct, blaming him appears to be foolish. I find it hard to believe that Moshiri is blaming Walsh on that basis.

Who's in control of EFC?
Who carries the can when things go wrong?
Who needs to spin a story when things go wrong?

It isn't Kenwright anymore.

I'd imagine BK is sitting back pissing himself at all this after being given so much stick over the years.
