Exactly, I'm no big fan of BK, but we have been told that he was not involved in transfers anymore, now he's to blame.

If we had a massively successful window I bet BK wouldn't be getting all the pats on the back would he.

It was a club F up, plain and simple.

Unfortunately I think Esk's info may have been wrong on that - re. Bill not being involved.

Moyes said himself that he'd held several discussions with Bill over Kone, and Moshiri himself said he was fully supporting 'the chairman' (Bill) and the other staff in their attempts to get deals done.

Quite clearly, Bill - though I don't have as much against him as others do - was involved

He paid 80m for his stake. He's worth over 1bn. I would say that's not a particularly significant dent in his personal wealth.

I wouldn't say he would feel pressured into not appointing people who he's comfortable with if it suits him personally, regardless of said appointees professionalism.
If you think businessmen like Moshiri lob £80m (with far more to follow btw) into a business to then just appoint any old donk irrespective of their professionalism then you're living on another planet

Bill only became involved towards the end of the summer when strategy and targets changed. This is what I am talking about in terms of using relationships rather than having defined roles throughout the management team.

I think the feeling towards the end of the window was to leverage off personal relationships, but it clearly didn't work (with the exception of Walsh/Gueye). It also explains the journalist's comments on Lukaku staying. Any contact from Chelsea would have gone to Bill as per previous arrangements. However the real work was done by Moshiri and Ryazantsev in persuading Lukaku and Raiola earlier in the summer.

It could be he specialises in making money. As in Ford don't 'specialise' in making cars, they specialise in making money...if they have to make cars to make money, well so be it.

If Moshiri has to buy football clubs to make money...
...pretty sure it is making cars though. We have no such certainty with our Russian friend.

Not what a big high up in Ford told me...by way of a sort of parable/example thingy

Degsy, he said, what is Fords business... making cars said I falling into his 'trap'...wrong, Fords business is to make money...if we could do that without making cars there wouldn't so much as a spare tyre in this place (Halewood)

fair enough Esk!

Seems plausible.

As far as the window goes, we've done OK with who we HAVE got.

But, we should/could have got a few more and a bit more quality in.

What is clearly needed is a definite strategy come January to get the players we want quickly.
