the way i see it, until the club spend money then i don't believe anything has changed. It is just ridiculous to claim otherwise.
'we left it too late in the window', 'we were trying for loads of deals' it was the boards poor negotiating skills' 'they all turned us down' etc etc etc
What if we just didn't have the money? What is this was the plan all along? the only time we were active was when we sold stones, in fact business brought in 3 players over 2 weeks when the deal went through, gueye just before and bolaisie and williams a week or so afterwards.
If you take a step back for a second, does it really look like we have money? considering i'm sure plenty of people posted in the kopite thread about their sell to buy policy and making a profit, we did no different.
Don't get me wrong, i am not bashing Moshiri or anything like that with my post. I am not denying any of the claims about signing bigger players and whatnot, in fact there is track record from the club to fail in the transfer market. This is a fair point. I do think we have the money but I think more has been put aside for a stadium than previously thought (just my opinion)
The biggest worry for me is that we have a very successful ruthless businessman in charge of Everton who had one objective and failed spectacularly.
Blame whoever you want but the buck stops with him. He or others promised a big warchest, statement signings etc and it looks like we waited for Stones sale before spending big money.
Then i would fully support that idea.Just a question Ash.
What if we spend money on things like, a new stadium, improved facilities, growing the club commercially - rather than just on transfers?
Moshiri, like many successful people, is a good salesman. He needed to convince a protective BK and a reluctant RK so he exaggerated the transfer kitty
So how would he explain a much lower spend than expected? Simple. Make enquiries / offers for unobtainable expensive stars while negotiating hard for lower level ones expecting to land at least one marquee and some budget players before deadline. ‘We tried very hard but don’t yet have the status to land these stars,’ would follow.
A few weeks ago I posited a theory that Mosh had leaked an exaggerated budget. What if we just didn't have the money? Well yes, a spot on idea to be honest. It is easy for people to shoot you down well before today about planning on spending but anyone who questioned it was right.A few weeks ago I posited a theory that Mosh had leaked an exaggerated budget.
After the J White text it seems even more plausible as he's clearly not averse to BS.
We're not skint as we desperately tried to spend on TDD but £100m?lol
Stadium deals take a while. Kit bag and chang deals still haven't expired so have to wait to improve on those. People expect everything to change instantly over night and it's not realistic, as well as expecting to know a detailed plan before anything is finalizedThen i would fully support that idea.
If the club announced that as the plan then it would be fair enough in my eyes. We do need to do that so i would happily see money go through them channels in the short term.
Except there has been radio silence over that as well. If they came out and announced business deals or a new ground or anything like that then from my own personal perspective, that is fine for the club to proceed with over simply spending the money on the pitch
As i said i would fully support finances going down that avenue rather than simply on the pitch. It is the radio silence on both sides though that is the worrying thing to be honest.Stadium deals take a while. Kit bag and chang deals still haven't expired so have to wait to improve on those. You keep harping on about "radio silence". They can't announce anything that hasn't been finalized so I'm not sure what you expect? As i said i would fully support finances going down that avenue rather than simply on the pitch. Which is why it is easy then to relate to the 'nothing has changed' point of view. A lot of things may have changed, and far more than we realise. We may announce the new ground and business deals etc by the end of the year. Or we say nothing and it continues.
All i question is what if nothing has changed? We are hanging all our hope on things changing without any actual evidence to form it on other than hope.

I don't think it's sell to buy as we almost blew £30m on Siss but were trying to loan Mc at the same time to get his wages off the books.Well yes, a spot on idea to be honest. It is easy for people to shoot you down well before today about planning on spending but anyone who questioned it was right.
but here is a thing, bidding for players with no plan to sign them, Promising money at ST renewal time and not delivering? Sell to buy?
Say it quietly but that is what kenwright did for years, and we have just done the exact same thing again.
Anything mate. You keep harping on about "radio silence". They can't announce anything that hasn't been finalized so I'm not sure what you expect?
