Dave, for pity sake... calling Farhad Moshiri a no mark owner is bang out of order in my opinion.

We've been down this road so many times it's getting ever more tedious.

He's financed the disposal of a failed managerial regime...
He's financed the acquisition of a new manager and DoF...
He's cleared the clubs bank debts...
He's financed a number of player acquisitions...
He's financed the re-decoration of Goodison that everybody seems to enjoy looking at...
He's overseen the freezing and in some cases reduction in ticket prices...
He's behind the re-energising of a fan base...
He's re-structuring the club on the commercial front...
He's attracted new sponsorship...
He's been at the heart of negotiating and procuring the perfect site for a new stadium...
He's structured a deal that will see external finance responsible for the construction of said stadium, leaving his own personal fortune available for squad strengthening - this isn't me speculating, it's a widely held belief...
He's rubber-stamped the future of Goodison as a Legacy Project rather than taking an easy £6-10 million from a housing developer or supermarket chain...

If all of this and no doubt more qualifies Farhad Moshiri as a no mark owner in your eyes, then maybe you need to pay a visit to an optician for a serious optical examination.

Enjoy your weekend.

Perfectly put, and just shows how far we've come in what 13 - 14 months?, but also this

Many many other business men, owners or whatever would of just seen a quick easy few million to be made there, I believe, at what we've seen so far, Moshiri has picked us up, dusted us down and we're going to go to some great places over the next few years

Correct. Its embarrassing.

If there's little net spend in the summer then we can only assume he's simply here for a quick risk free buck. Although I'm still hopeful and confident that's not the case and we'll finally see a proper window.

Ah, the frankly tiresome and pointless "Net Spend" rears its head.

Strewth. If the team is improved in the summer, does it actually matter how much, net, we have spent?

Your gift from God wants to pile £350M (nearer £400M by the time it'll be built) onto Everton.

He sits back with zero risk and then cashes in at a later date.

He's got £2billion but he's asked a council that cant or wont provide services to pensioners, kids and the infirm to be creditors for the club....and you're thanking him.

Lol.

Sorry Dave but the sentiment here is triffle, despite the facts which you are right. (yes i know how that sounds...)

The council are doing naff all than just being named on a piece of paper and getting handsomely paid for it. Don't get caught up in the propaganda, it is good for the council.

The 350/400 million being put on to Everton is not a bad thing, it's called a mortgage and the repayments are actually way less percentage of income than what most people can dream of. It might be something that pays for itself through increased gate and sponsorship.

What other way would you like it? Moshiri pays for it all and at any point he can ask for it back, then the club have to quickly try and arrange something with the bank at astronomical interest rates? Doesn't sound like a winner to me. The finance will be affordable and sustainable. It is 'good' debt.

You have to remember Moshiri only owns 49.9% of Everton, so why would he take all the risk for half the reward.

The only negative i can see in all of this is that as the stadium is being paid for by the club over the long term, I think it's less likely that Kenwright's and the others shares will be bought out now.

Of course it's not all about net spend but the best players don't come cheap. If you want them then by logic you'd expect them to cost more than the bang average players we'll be hoping to move on in permanent deals. We're going to get it right this time tho I'm fairly sure in any case.

Correct. We spent £6.8m on Gana Gueye and UTD spent £89m on Pogba.

Who got the better deal? Who had the more 'impressive' net spend?

Football fans not accountants.

Quite.

And after last night, we now have Morgs, Bolashie, and Seamus, circa what, £70m combined (?), in hospital.

Im more interested to see how far we will be prepared to pay wages wise. if we start missing out on good players who would undoubtedly improve us cos we wont offer the going rate in wages then it will show a lack of real ambition on improving the team. we need to start competing in the wages dept as to attract quality players

Dave i actually dont mind reading your regular opposing views and each thread, some i kind of agree with (not many) but am sorry mate you are talking out your hoop on this one........
If your not impressed by what he is doing/done so far then i really do question if your a genuine Everton fan??? Your sounding like a kopite mate you really are!!
I dont think for one minute that Moshiri is here just to make EFC great again without any financial gains for himself why would he? he has no emotional ties to the club, Just like any other owner of any other football club around the world this is a business venture.. His success (financial gain) will come with Evertons success if achieved.

This deal will provide LCC with around 4m per year for doing nothing, low risk high reward!
