The difference between Everton between this year and last year is like night and day. We are now not the plucky little also rans we are always portrayed to be, we are now it appears to be a very well ran club with plans for future sustainability, that is the key in this at a point in the near future we will generate our own riches to be able to compete. I'm not arsed if Moshiri dips his hand into his pocket in the summer or if we show constraint and live within our means, as long as we keep walking in the right direction.

Mr Moshiri is a very erudite and very astute man and I like what he has done in terms of the debt, but he is not our answer to Roman Abramovich or Sheikh Mansour.

Mr Moshiri has a net worth of just £2BN, which puts him well behind the owners of clubs such as Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton, Leicester City, Tottenham and Man Utd etc.

He brings business acumen and contacts to the table, but not big money.
One year on, with undeniable improvement, Mosh's business acumen is moving the club in the right direction.
I suspect what you're saying is true but it's not the vision the fans and players were sold. With leaks of £100m budgets and Mosh himself claiming a £60m player bid an expectation of player investment was created that hasn't been delivered upon as referenced by Rom amongst others.
If you're appraisal is right it means we'll benefit greatly from having an astute business man at the helm but it also leads to an inexorable conclusion. We've been deliberately misled.

If Barkley isn't signing a new contract there is no chance Moshiri will sanction the sale of Lukaku too. One or the other in my opinion.
True this, be too much for a rebuilding job, even if Barkley signs we can still say to Lukaku your staying.
For me a worry is Lukaku signing a new contract, because if he does chances are there will be a release clause and he will already know of a club willing to pay it. Like Torres did at Liverpool, I want 12 more months from him, if Moshiri says not going he has no choice but to give us that

If Lukaku leaves Barkley can expect a bumper contract. No way will Barkley be allowed to leave after selling Stones then Lukaku in 12 months.

Thing is Lukaku is telling us why he hasnt signed, what I dont understand is there is nothing come out from the Barkley camp either way, but its going to get to a stage when if he hasnt signed we have to make sure he is sold early in the window, especially with the Europa league and having to start early next season, we need things sorted early

Suspect it's just his agent piling a bit of pressure on us for more dollar, don't you think? Can't see Barkley having any huge desire to leave Everton at this stage, I think he's still in love with the club.

yeah, but in that case he should tell his agent "i don't care about the extra money, i'm happy to sign anything within reason so stop haggling".
i think there'll be more to it than that.

Koeman gave us an inkling as to what might be causing the delay when he said that Barkley had told him that he craved Champions League football. As you say, though, the fact that no remarks have been forthcoming from Barkley or his representatives is a bit odd.

I'm just surmising here, but money may well have something to do with Barkley's reluctance to sign on the dotted line. According to the 'papers we have offered the lad £100k per week, which is almost a third less than what James Milner is on. Ross could easily get more than £100k at Spurs or one of the other "top 6" clubs.

What's the door charge to clubs in Liverpool?

Obviously money is important to Ross, as it is to every wage slave in the world.
He is well aware of his worth, especially now his mate who scores the goals he sets up has just been offered £140K per week.
