Hiring Barrett-Baxendale to replace Elstone is underwhelming and underlines the carpet bagger will be back-seat driving again on major club issues.
I haven't seen any credible report that DBB will replace Elstone but if it happens it'll be by far the most underwhelming appointment of Moshiri's tenure for me.
She's done an excellent job running a small charity but how exactly does that qualify her to be on a football club's board nevermind becoming CEO?

She is clearly very good at what she does but we need someone with previous experience. The dof role and Walsh being a good example of what can go wrong when you appoint an inexperienced person.

Well, yeah, I suppose so - given that rat McNulty was the one who mentioned it. ;)

I'd like to harbour some optimism toward the effecting of rapid and dramatic change, but Everton is less a harbour than a rickety old jetty on a muddy tidal estuary. The blockbuster cash from player sales has been entirely wasted and I cannot see Mosh dipping any further into his own pockets.
For the next 2-3 seasons at least we are in for more mediocrity league position-wise...hopefully though, the quality of football is improved because it's been beyond dire.
We have a squad of unmotivated cart horses and yard dogs...they'll be sticking around to pick up their 50-100k a week and feed their fat bellies with full English breakfasts.
And yes, yes, I appreciate the lads put on a fab Blue Chrimbo...but just like the slapstick comedy that is Everton FC, I'm tired of all the pantomime.

The chorus to World Party's 1986 excellent song 'Ship of Fools' succinctly articulates my present feelings toward the current failure that is Everton:

Save me. Save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this ship of fools
Where's it comin' from?
Where's it goin' to now?
It's just a - It's just a ship of fools
Spot on mate, all's this club has ever got to look forward to is the hope of just decent football, even that's a stretch too far for me to believe, totally give up now with football altogether, thank's Everton
