Unfortunately the older threads did not make the shift to this version of the forum. IIRC though you had a Word file you kept of all your postings on Martinez which you used to quote from. Maybe you could do the search?

I mean, you're not actually disputing the fact you were anti-Martinez prior to his arrival and even during the period he was setting the clubs best ever PL points and win total are you?

By this point you should each put a number on each argument and save a load of typing.

Eh, sorry Dave you've lost me there, that definitely wasn't me with a word file. If you can't get the vaults to quote the simple thing is to search and hit prntscn on your computer and then paste the image in ;)

Here you go Dave, this is my opinion on bobby, 50/50 but out of the choices available I was happy(ish)

Even defending the 3-4-3 formation he employed and taking some flack for it, looks like I was right because mr Conte as used it effectively.

This was my concern and it proved spot on. The task was far to big for him and he failed massively

A club like Everton has not won a carrot for 20 odd years by the way.

I think he should have been sacked, he "lost the dressing room" which was enough for me and some of our performances were dire. That's fine but to expect someone to walk away from it himself is just not realistic. He may have thought that he could get rid of the bad apples (for want of a better term) and have another crack next season as we got to two semi finals etc etc. Who knows?

Let's forget about standards and expectations.Just throw your arms up in the air.And say ah sure Everton have won nothing in 20 years.Who am i to complain about anything and be happy enough with mid table mediocrity and the worst home season in our modern history!Sweet Jesus we won't get Everton back to where it should be with this we won nothing for 20 years and therefore we should have no expectations and blindly accept anything attitude!

Nah, more than likely Martinez did say it but in the context of "if we can do this, get that and if other clubs dont perform we can get CL football".

In Billy Liar world that get's edited to "he's promised me CL football!!!"

You know what, for all the negive things I could say about Martinez your probably spot on with this one Dave. I can very well believe that to be the truthful origins of the champions league promise.
