It's easy to call this England team out for lacking passion and commitment but the reality is they lack the technical skill and brains to be a truly great team at this level, and that's been the case for a long, long time. When they aren't around there foreign buddies at club level they are shown up for what they are. As Harry Redknapp said, England needs to start developing players like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil, and at the moment, they aren't.
Capello has his faults, no question about it, but he's working with a limited bunch and the sad thing is alot of English fans and the media would have you believe these are far better footballers than they actually are. Clive Tyldesley comparing England to Spain during a recent game and Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon and Alan Hansen writing Germany off as an average team springs to mind.
England are simply reaching there potential, this stage, possibly the odd quarter final here and there is all I see.
