Getting beaten by lesser teams at home - the wake up call

The most galling thing for me is these teams who have beat us have not had to do anything special.

I keep reading how well Fulham played, did they? I mean they were OK but they were just doing the basics.

They are a mix of Championship players, young talent and loanees, they just wanted it more, not by bombing around everywhere but just by being able to pass to a team mate and being sensible.

The speed in which other teams attack compared to us is ridiculous.
Precisely, we lose these matches mainly because we have no legs in the middle and rotate the backline far too often with weak rb at time.

After last nights spectacular implosion I`ve see many said `didnt think wed get top 4 anyway`, as it stands the 4th team is West Ham, WEST HAM! Until Chelsea play anyway and they can only go level on points. They are 2 points clear of the RS with same games played, that now puts us 5 points behind them albeit with 2 games in hand against City (H) & Villa (A).....

Add to that our next 4 games are :-

City at home (NO CHANCE)
The [Poor language removed] away (Annual bumming by our neighbours where our players fail to turn up!)
Southampton (Who need the points and have lost 6 straight in the league for the 1st time in their history, you know what that means!)
Chelsea away (I dont think we can win this one, not now!)

We could affectively be completely out of any European contention after these games with teams like West Ham and Villa waltzing in and nicking them. Cant see us finishing any higher than 10th, all our optimism this season has been eroded by home defeats to relegation fodder. If we are not careful we could even finish below Leeds in 11th.......

Perhaps we should have gone for Moyes, look at what he is achieving!!! Is CA a fraud?.... Still reeling from last night, we just had absolutely nothing, nothing at all.

One does not win three European Cups by being a fraud. We're short pieces, thin and injury-prone. The guy can only do so much while flailing around trying to paper over the cracks.

Moyes has an approach with lower variance and a lower ceiling. It might outperform us this season, but it won't get us where we want to go. It didn't then, it didn't at United and it won't now.

Carlo is a proven world class manager who wins everything in the past. We just have to back him with his signings and getting rid of the players who aren’t good enough. Those without work-rate, aggression and pace.

That doesnt help us, this was the season to break the top 4 or top 6, the only ones taking advantage of that is West Ham, we are nowhere. Next season all the top sides will be back and we will miss out yet again unless we spunk 200 or 300 million in the next window which I`m 100% certain will not happen.

We are a dying club, proof that after a year even a manager like CA can not fix this mess. Just a nothing club, we will always be second in this city, about time we just faced up to it......

I hope you are joking there if Carlo can’t do this no one can. Moyes had long gone and he failed at a number of clubs after he left Everton.

OK, so Carlo Ancelotti finishes 8th if your optimistic or 11th worst case, who is joining us to compete for trophies or Europe when CA has had a 12th place finish and an 8th with no Europe again. I think alot will be looking at CA and Everton thinking that not alot is going to happen here.... I dont see us going getting proven players, we had Doucoure, James and Allan. But I think anything now will be young and with resale.

Ancelotti has taken us as a last pay day as they all do these days. We arent getting European football next season.....

Moyes took over after CA came in yet they look 10 times the team we are, I`d be confident in saying they will be above us at the end of the season

Agreed. We simply have no luxury to play backup players and expect us to beat the lesser sides at home.

I think the lack of fans is starting to take effect now & that's why we're getting crazy results right across the board. A fired up crowd at our place makes a big difference as it helps motivate the players when the chips are down. Look at Liverpool, going on nearly 3 seasons without a home defeat in the league & now they've lost 3 on the bounce. United are not the team they are at home without 70 odd thousand getting behind them. Empty stadiums have become a great leveller & we're suffering just as much as anyone else. Think we'll see a big difference next season should fans be allowed back in.

Lol you are using Moyes to beat Carlo and that works for you. Good luck. Look at his records since he left Everton. He even relegated Sunderland.

No sir, I`m saying someone like Moyes, or shall we use Dean Smith as an example who both nearly got relegated, their teams want to have a go at the league and have a go at their opponent in any game. Leeds who have just come up want to have a go, all I see from Everton is playing football under CA which is more associated with Sam Allardyce where we sit in behind the ball then try and nick something from set pieces.

I cant say for certain but CA looks like a fraud and a myth at the moment. You cant tell me he cant play any different with this group of players? If they were tired after Wednesday then perhaps its good we dont get Europe because how would we cope every weekend and midweek? The whole playing side is a mess...

Poor selection the main reason yesterday

But there's been a horrible lack of commitment in all our most recent home games. The manager shouldn't be tolerating it.

If we'd even been half decent at home we'd be in a fantastic position. Its absolutely infuriating. Absolute losers letting people down time and time again.

Failure is always excused at this club. And failure is always spun to be success. Games like yesterday cannot be tolerated.

Good luck to you if you believe Moyes, Smith or the Leeds manager got more and want to “have a go”.

As much as I am being critical for the latest home results, I am on Carlo’s side because he is the best signing we have. He just needed to be back and when our home form is back on track we will be up there to complete.

The players needed to take responsibility. There was no fighting spirit in the recent home matches. On the contrary, we show up in the away matches and against the Sky teams.
