You would not turn that promotion down in any job, mate ... human nature & the fact as a player his wages were moderate compared with today's rate - his success as a player should never have been forgotten .....

maybe, as i said up for debate. but i certainly wouldnt complain and blame other people if i had to leave said job.
and his success as a player is completely irrelevant.

I suppose the question is Would you then perpetuate a lie about people who adore you and forty years later were still singing your name ? Because you , and various journalists, can dance around it all you want that’s the problem . Unless Merseyside police are lying, which is possible obviously, and the video we’ve all seen of the players being pulled has been edited to remove the cars being kicked .

I’ve said I’m more than happy to see him in the ground , his playing performances earned him that right and more but acting like he’s the victim in this just when the tide was definitely turning in his favour feels a bit mad .

A bit of honesty , a bit of reflection a bit of genuine emotion would all have gone down a lot better . What do I know but I think despite his statements he is genuinely upset about it , even wounded but he’s not putting that across .
Depends on his own personal experience of our fans towards him - we do not know what or any abuse to him even in his home environment ?

Nobody has banished him from the club it was his choice to stop going.
I personally don't think he would have any issues if he attended a game , I feel he let the fans down but I certainly would not give him any abuse in fact a lot of fans would give him credit for showing up.
An apology first would go a long way to healing the rift but unfortunately I don't feel he thinks he has doing anything wrong.
Thing for me is that us fans if the takeover is completed have got what we wanted change at the club. I have no problem him coming back because of his service at the club would say the same about kenwright if here. As soon as the lost power at the club i was fine with it was all i wanted. Is on him now if he wants come back i am sure the club will try again

I know it’s reported appeared at a boozer and got a standing ovation, he even says it in those articles . Sharpy is booked to do a dinner in town in November with nev , who does he think are going to that ? It’s obviously Evertonians

I just think these articles are badly written , I think he himself would come across a lot better to the disgruntled fan base if he was just truthful . He can’t say he’s not bothered then talk about his emotions , clearly he’s bothered so tell us you are and people will respect that

It's not being forgotten though. This is people talking about Sharpe the individual Joey. Go back a few pages here and quite a few people had stories (including one of the mods) about interactions they have had with him and everyone says he is a miserable git. Seen the same sort of stories posted on twitter by people, loved as a player but any interactions with fans and he seemingly didn't want to know them or just ignored them point blank. This is just general stuff Joey, we are not even talking about what happened with the board under Kim Jong Kenwright.

Turn up & receive abuse - would you do that after all his service has a player - fans have short memories - The people who promoted himself onto the board are to blame - I criticised him for getting the supporters PR job for life no one in this day & age gets a job for life .... It has BK all over it ....
I agree about BK being all over it,As for turning up and getting abuse I don't believe that would happen and so what if he does he has brought it on himself by showing no remorse for what he has done.
We all have to face up to situations in life if going to a football stadium and having to take a bit of abuse is the toughest thing he has ever had to take he has had a very sheltered life

We don't know the circumstances of any threats he may have received to him or his family - I am sure Sharpy is a true Evertonian , but really if he is getting abuse at home or at the game would you go ?

I would Joey because you have to front it out.
If Evertonians stopped travelling to away games because of the abuse or the real chance of violence there would be nobody going away.
It's called supporting your team.
