Turn up & receive abuse - would you do that after all his service has a player - fans have short memories - The people who promoted himself onto the board are to blame - I criticised him for getting the supporters PR job for life no one in this day & age gets a job for life .... It has BK all over it ....
He lived every fans dream and fooked it up, some years after retiring. Always Oldham if they into old boys network. He would back in heart beat if it paid.

Apologise for Laurel & Hardy, who dragged the club into disrepute? he was never director material end of IMO - his playing record needs no apology IMO ....

Joey try and separate the player from the man, nobody is saying he wasn't a great player, no one can take that away from him. What they are saying is he is not a nice person, who admittedly was used as another human shield by Kenwright, but he stood side by side with Bill and Co, while they all threw Everton fans under a bus live on sky tv in front of the watching millions. He has never really endeared himself with the fans after he stopped playing, remember one man and his Dog comment ? He has shown and continues to show no contrition. He's acting like a victim. Of course he can go the match, whose stopping him ? He could sit next to me and I wouldn't care, wouldn't acknowledge him but wouldn't care. He chose to stay away no one else.

he was probably the first super star I was aware of!
cant believe how dug in he is over this nonsense.
He'd built up enough goodwill to just come out and say
"I love Everton, I'd love to move on from what happened over the last few years and I'm really looking forward to what the next chapter at BMD brings" blah blah etc.
Instead he comes out with "fans dont know the truth".
Ok Graham, tell the fans the truth. Can't do that? why not?
The club finally seems to be getting up off it's knees and dusting it's self down and here you are spouting nonsense.
I really hope Friedkin strips the club of everything at board level that came before.
(except Chong, think he's done a good job).
And maybe bring in Nev, theres a real hero.

No this is what you posted:

I don't see the word "May" in there anywhere. I couldn't care less about 40 years ago I'm not the one who keeps going on about Sharpe the player in every other post, it's completely irrelevant to him as an individual. Also he has been invited back by Dyche and refused. Nothing is stopping him coming to games other than Sharpe himself.
Stop being pradantic

The buck started with the Director & Chairman - Sharpy just took a job that was too good to be true ....
He chose to defend those idiots and stand with them against the fans. I get it. He did what he felt was best for him and his bank account. I wouldn't even hold it against him if he wasn't acting all wounded and hurt like he was the victim of some great injustice. He chose this ffs. He needs to grow up and own it. Its not like anyone is making him unwelcome or saying he shouldn't be allowed into Goodison. He can come back whenever he wants and he knows it! But he can absolutely go eff himself if he wants the fanbase to collectively bag him to come back. Its no wonder he loved Kenwright so much, it seems Sharpy is something of an egomaniac himself.

It shows how out of touch he's become if he feels that excuse for a board he was part of was badly treated by the fans. Has he already forgot they run us so horrifically they broke rules running us into two points deductions which threatened the whole future of our club? What did he expect us to do? Give them the Royal treatment?

I've had my own run-ins with Sharp when he was on the Legends phone-in when he cut me off for my fierce criticisms of Kenwright and then later he told Mickey Thomas on air not to read anymore of my texts out for the same thing and this was back in the mid-2000s, long before most of the fanbase had turned on Kenwright. Years before that when he did phone-ins on Radio City when Walter Smith was manager and we had 4 years of his mind-numbing football he refused to accept fans criticisms of him and often clashed with Blues on there.

Sharp had been playing a dangerous game openly siding with that disgrace of a board nearly everyone wanted out because if you're under 40 and didn't see him play your hardly going to have loyalty to him are you? You'd probably just think he's a knobhead, he couldn't just rely on backing from my generation who saw him play in genuinely great Everton teams.

He for me was only brought in as a shield by that board back in December 2021 because that was the month the heat was really turned up on them starting with the 27th minute walk out against Arsenal and they thought any protests would quickly die down with Sharp part of it. How wrong they were.

It's shame such a club legend has been reduced to this but he knew what he was doing when he jumped into bed with and sided with Kenwright and his board who were wrecking this club. That won't be forgotten quickly and his 'woe is me' interview at the weekend is hardly the way to go to get Blues back onside.

Should have just apologised

The fact he’s doubled down has made it worse and highlights some unpleasant entitlement he seems to have

….i think he’s trying to get public opinion on his side rather than coming clean with supporters.

For me, he’s part of a jurisdiction that resulted in us getting a points deduction which is gross maladministration yet he continually spins that they were doing a fine job. Everybody is at fault except them. If he’s got a story to tell he should tell it.
