Hilary Benn Sacked From The Shadow Cabinet - wider political debate

There are going to be a lot of by-elections when those that resigned, do the honourable thing and resign from their seats because they are at odds with Labour party members. Look forward to seeing their hypocrisy.

They are only at odds with the few thousand labour party members who support Corbyn. If their constituents still want them then they will continue, and rightly so........

I don't particularly mind that Corbyn hasn't resigned due to the resignations, but once he gets the vote of no confidence then he's a lame duck, does not command the support of his party and as such can't lead.

If he doesn't resign at that point, I'd have no respect for him at all.

Tom Watson needs to have a chat with him sharpish......

We need Corbyn out of the way asap. When the EU negotiations get underway we need a strong opposition, minus the crazy ones, to ensure that SNP does get it's own way in Scotland and that our regions are fully to the fore in receiving monies that would have gone to the EU. I'd like to see another Coalition set up so that we negotiate as a united country and not a set of warring factions.......

Just because the public voted for him doesn't mean he just stay on, he has to prove he is good enough in the job..
He wasn't even voted in by the "public". He was voted in by a large number of activists who all bought the £3 membership purely for the purpose of voting him in to push their own agenda. He would only have to face the public in a general election and anybody can see that he wouldn't stand a cat in hell chance. He's shown that he's far to weak to lead following the referendum results. As much as I have always disliked him I thought him a man of integrity and principle, who would stick to him beliefs no matter what, this has proven to be false from the way he changed his tune over the EU Vote. The man is completely controlled by certain figures within the party, have you ever heard of a party whip keeping the leader in line?! It's to ludicrous to contemplate, but it's what's going on within the Labour party. He currently has a weakened opposition, a country looking for leadership and had repeated chances to save the situation but with the skills of true genius he's swept aside all these obstacles with unerring precision and out of what should of been ordered created utter chaos.

Surely they have to bring some thing in next leadership contest that you had to be a 'proper' member 12 months before the vote or similar.

He does seem to have an unerring ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory........

I think seafaring analogies are a dangerous game for you to play Pete, given the Captain of HMS Great Britain has abandoned his post leaving crew, women and children to fend for themselves, the ship having hit an iceberg he navigated towards.

The SS Great Britain was a brilliant piece of design by one of our greatest engineers I.K.Brunel, continues to exist and still gives joy to millions........
