I think we will stay up..

We're hot favourites right now to take the drop. I said that after the game. And it's true.

However, this is football and these matters have a habit of not staying the same. Look at Watford a few weeks ago: dead and buried, now in with a chance.

More than likely we'll get clear and survive. That's some admission though after spending half a billion on players.
We are 2/1 to go down, Leeds 7/4 and the other 3 odds on. I wouldn't describe that as us being hot favourites

A half decent performance and we would have won yesterday. Wolves are far from a good side, they are just organised.

If we had started quick and challenged for second balls then we would have won. Fans need something in return and they got a lack of effort and a lack of guts yesterday. Our two midfield players for example, were not up for the game. Doucoure refused to pass forward, and VDB refused to get himself into space to receive the ball. And people think the fans should applaud that sort of rubbish?

It's very simple... start fast, on the front foot, challenge for second balls, play at a tempo, don't pull out of challenges, and show a bit of urgency, and Goodison will respond immediately.

They’re 7th, I’d say they’re a good side.

Booing during the game, at half time, or beforehand is completely stupid. Booing after the final whistle is fair game in my opinion. There were players out there yesterday who, with a little bit of fight and application, could have done much better.

The criticism is understandable given how little they give back to the club and the support. They don't deserve anyone making excuses for them at this point. If the realisation of our predicament hasn't set in by now, then it never will.

It’s not about whether the booing is fair or not.

They don’t suddenly become immune to it if it’s after the final whistle. The boos and jeers will stay with them, it sows doubt in your mind if you aren’t mentally tough, which this group are not currently.

Whether the players deserve to be booed is irrelevant, we have to prioritise what will give us the best chance of staying up. There’s no point bemoaning the players while making the situation worse by booing them.

You're probably right, but it's very hard right now. Hard to find the energy to back these players and believe they can find something.

After watching MOTD2 last night.
Richy through on goal in the first half should have simply lifted his shot over the diving GK (who went down far too early);
Richy second half header desperately unlucky - a few inches to the right and we would have been level. On such things, games turn.

Leeds first goal - how the hell (notwithstanding what the studio said about the actual law of the game) was Bamford not flagged offside, since the pass want intented for him, and was directed to him (it was only the poorness of the pass that resulted in it not reaching him). He was 'active' from the moment the ball left his colleague's foot, and remained so for several seconds. That goal being allowed changed the course of the game...

And what was the Southampton defence doing for Watford's first goal? Unbelieveable! What don't opponents do that when we play then...?
