It’s not wildly exciting but it’s good to get business like this done early. Will also benefit him to get a full pre season having missed last years due to injury.

End of the day it’s one less thing to do over the summer, we have a lot of berths to fill with limited resources. Last year’s squad did hit its target (easily without the deduction) so you want to keep as much of it together as possible before making the right additions.

Apparently no loan fee and only wages per the Athletic. Which in reality is a good deal. We get a player the manager knows and likes and it doesn't represent much in terms of an outlay.
The relegation clauses Leeds put in their players contracts are WILD.

Imagine letting decent players or saleable assets go out on loan for no money whilst you slog away trying to gain promotion from the championship.

Sensible decision by the club.

We’re desperately short in wide areas. McNeil & Dobbin (who isn’t good enough). Using one of the loans on a wide player, no fee, used to the club, knows the managers system & proven premier league player is a no brainer.

Leaves whatever small amount of money we do have to hopefully invest in a “upgrade” with abit of pace.

Zero loan free again we're just covering his wages

Has Everton transfer news always been reported in the New York Times?

Not sure why, it just seems strange to me.
