And we are back to the start, another Big Mick Keggers isnt a bad thing, despite the anti-big mick keggers hate cult.
I'm a Keane fan we just don't need another.

Frankly you can make a case for me that we don't actually need to do business in the position. The CBs aren't good but they can appear good if we put a real midfield in front of them. Mina's injuries and contract mean that probably isn't the best way to handle it but I'm not totally sure giving a guy four fresh years of wages at age 29 is the right course either.

It'd be different if we hadn't seen Keane do the same move and have certain issues. That's not fair but I can't ignore it.

From what ive seen hes a decent steady injury free CB, thats the bit I cant ignore.

That and the free bit, hes a short term fix, that wont hinder us, if he continues on his current injury free path for another 3 years, which is impossible at this club, but, IF he does, then its a deal we should do. If he craps the bed, well its 5m a year down the drain, a mere drop in the ocean for Squander FC. Yeah, yeah, we should be doing things properly, but sloperly properly.

Our defenders arent bad, they just need to stop kicking the ball into their own net and getting injured.

Would imagine it would be JT in and 1 out, possibly Branflakes a loan or Mina due to his injury issues.

But as said in the past, if it happens, then great, if it doesnt, oh well, the danger is, who do we turn to then? I dont want us wasting our dough on CBs or Full backs when our midfield needs some major surgery.

That's what I was saying you could just sign no one, hope injuries aren't as bad and sell Mina next summer since his value probably can't drop off that much as I imagine it is low already. Fix the midfield instead and you've got a better defense.

This explains a lot.

It looks as though Villa have pulled out the race for Tarkowski. I think he’s a good player, there is just that worry he is after a last big contract on big wages. Would definitely improve a lot of teams though.

Wow and u think Richy is not the best.

Questions

Is he better then Keane and Holgate?

Can he pass the ball without panicking?

How many goals had he caused for Burnley?

I'm not too bothered about his age,age is just a number

Pretty much this.
He is much better than we have. Except for Mina, but man never fit.
We are not signing superstar players for silly money this year. We just ain't. We still have 2 years of rolling losses to figure in. We are not spending much money's,, and any money's we do spend will probs be in midfield, financed by a sales.
This lad is better than we have, and no transfer fee (yeah yeah sign on fee). But unless we pick up an unknown gem. This is the kind of signing we need to make, right now. Better than we have, a leader, no silly fee and wage.

Don't think we have much room to pay anyone 100k a week. Even if we did, it wouldn't be a great sign of things to come.

How about signing a player that we are then scrambling to give a big contact extension to, in two years time, because he has shown he is worth it and the big clubs are sniffing around.

The other thing, and it's a bit crude, but adding another Michael Keane actually helps Michael Keane. His best form at Burnley came playing next to another clogger. Here he has been best next to Mina.

I suspect we see a more consistent Keane next to Tarkwoski. That's not necessarily a reason to buy him, but I think Keane benefits from Tarowoski.

Burnley with their backs against the wall defending deep is probably different to the way Frank wants to play but I think Tarkowski can adapt, he’s a decent solid defender and can read the game pretty well.
Indeed it is. Keane has looked at worst okay - at times even better - when we've played a deeper line with little to no gap between the back four and Pickford.

The problems emerge when there's space behind the back line and Keane has to turn; he's easily done for pace and turns like a stricken cruise liner.

It's horses for courses. I think there's positives behind signing Tarkowski but only if it fits the style we want to play because can he succeed in a higher line?

What we can't afford is to sign him, for him to struggle with more expansive football and we're then limited by him and Keane.
