An unbelievable talent who people have rightly said is worth the admission fee on his own. Im too young to remember Beckenbauer so I can't think of anyone who I can compare him to. Was he wrong to do cruyff turns in his 6 yard box? Probably but the way he did it and his reaction to the park end made him go up even more in my estimation. We'll still be talking about it in 20 years time

In all seriousness it's great to have a kid of such calibre at our club and we mustn't forget that he is a youngster and there is plenty of time for him to master the art of defending whilst also being as comfortable on the ball as any defender I have ever seen play. whether that is with us or not is another question. He will make mistakes and sometimes need reigning in a bit but that is all part of his progression.

It looks more like the actions of a player who's been given free rein to do wtf he wants with little censure.

I have to step carefully here what I say on the issue because I've been over the moon with the way we play our footy these days and believe we should never back down from playing it - and that includes bringing the ball out from our own defensive third - so I dont want to sound like I'm asking for the brakes to be put on it. But I dont accept arseing about in our own box like that goes with the territory.

Maybe he's been indulged too much by his manager, although I doubt he'd want his CB to do a couple of Cruyff turns deep in our own box.

To add to this, Goodison is basically a toxic wasteland for our players.

We have had McCarthy, Howard and now Stones telling the fans to calm down, its no wonder we cant win a game.
