John Stones Is A Rolls Royce But…

I hope he megs Howard in injury time next game, then gets down onto his hands and knees and heads the own goal in from the line.

Straight up onto his feet and flicking v's at all four corners of the ground with his shorts raised just enough to see his ballsack hanging out.

Martinez would be onto after the game talking about "phenomenal footballing arrogance" and I reckon this forum would spontaneously combust.

lol lol lol

Actually crying.

This is a perfect example of fans not having patience with young players.

Who does he think he is having bad form or games at 21yo and then deciding for himself that he'd rather keep possession and help us attack rather than hoof the ball and hope for the best!?

"helping us attack"

lol

Though it would be better if he helped us defend a bit better, innit :pint2:

whats funny about that? he wanted to make space so he could pick a pass rather than hoofing it and most probably losing possession. He wanted us to snatch a winner, as we all did.

And again, another dig at his defensive failings. I cant wait until our 21 year old stars with no flaws or bad form come along so these fans can be happy finally.

That post is even funnier lol

Having seen Mick Lyons et al ,I can tell you who I would rather have in the team
He is simply the best I have seen in a blue shirt given his age and not far behind the best who I think over a short period would be Colin Todd
I thought Kevin Ratcliffe did his job very well but Stones is a cut above him for composure
I agree with the article he alone is worth the entrance fee .On a broader note we are under performing but we are not very far away from being the best we have had for many many years
I have been left gutted by some of the draws but some of the play has taken my breathe away and I watch the clips time and time again .These kids are so young ,having said that what was the average age of the 84/85 side ? I seem to remember it was about 23
Onwards and upwards blues

Until he can compete in his own box for crosses and defend them properly I cant see him at the top of any Everton CB list, not by a long chalk. The lad doesn't fancy it and goes missing. Not a thing you could ever lay at the door of the Ratcliffe's, Lyons, Watsons, Mountfields of this world.

The boy is, unfortunately, not here for the long term and we will be crying into our drinks when we see him with a new Beau. And I regret that, in my opinion, the response of some of the fans at the weekend is just going to hasten his departure. In the annals of Everton's history there will be a (short) chapter about how one of - if not THE - best central defenders of the modern footballing era was hounded out by his own fans (conveniently overlooking, of course, the impact of agents and professional greed) all because the natural confidence and ability he exuded was too much to take for some of the fans. Evertonians really can be churlish, unforgiving and downright venemous at times which is fine if directed at opponents but not, for goodness sake, at our own. I could weep.

If there has even been a goal scored as a direct result of a defender dallying inside his own 6 yard box, I know what net the ball has gone in.
